Fans should now learn, not to be lazy and diss the manager or players too early.

The people who never criticised when we were rooted to the bottom, playing odd formations with strange team selections and making the same mistakes again and again; who just knew that we would go on to complete what is being described as one of the greatest escapes in premier league history... they are the only true fans. Everyone else, hang your heads in shame. In fact, we should probably ban everyone who expressed doubts from this forum. Only the great non-doubting posters should be allowed to post from now on.

Agree I have been so naughty I deserve banning lol

I never said I was leaning towards him going. In fact I think I've been pretty clear about him being in charge of we were to go down. I said after Hull I was starting to lose faith as I found his decisions in that game baffling.

Well what else were you 'starting to lose faith' in then, if it wasn't the manager and his capacity to run the club? Are you seriously trying to suggest that saying 'I'm beginning to lose faith in him' didn't actually mean that you were entertaining the thought that we might just be better off with another manager, but something entirely different? What about when you said you weren't especially bothered when we got rid of him or not? Were you still hell-bent on him staying then?

You were wrong, I was wrong, most people were wrong about Pearson, and the team. Those few that were right about Pearson were either right for the wrong reasons (i.e. being practically in love with him; saying he should be manager no matter what), or simultaneously wrong about the team by asserting that they were the ones to blame all along. This is what makes our recent resurgence so astounding.

So I'm prepared for a few people to say how right they were to back Pearson along - some of which genuinely believed he would turn things around and were astonishingly accurate, some of which were simply stubborn or borderline insane. But you didn't keep the faith like them, just as I didn't, and I'm not sure it's wise for you to suddenly turn on other people who quite sensibly 'lost the faith' for a while.

It's so true and what infuriates me so much is there were so many fans, and there still are no doubt, that wanted him gone even when we were doing great in the championship. Some fans have just always had it in for his persona. Just waiting for us to start playing badly so they have a reason to moan. It genuinely happens.

My position this season has always been the same. I seen the huge benefit of stciking with him after the awful form in the back end of the play off season. The manager and squad learnt from it and won the ****ing league. If we had gone down, i'd have stuck with him because i know how much he learns from is past. People forget he is still pretty young in terms of manager years.

What we do have now is a squad full of at least a years experience under their belt and a manager who has proved he can learn from his mistakes. The future is bright and its because we have stuck with one of the best managers in our history.
