ramboacdc Posted 29 May 2015 Posted 29 May 2015 By todays standards, the stadium was in poor condition and the police failed to control the event. But the wall toppled because lots of (mainly) Juventus fans were forced against it because they were being persued by Liverpool fans. So whilst you could argue the Liverpool fans did not destroy the wall, it is clear that their actions lead to the collapse. I'm sorry but trying to exonerate the Liverpool fans (and I'm not saying it was all Liverpool fans - just those involved in the trouble) is beyond stupidity. personally i don't know too much about the disaster to say which way but i know what my dad told me as a liverpool fan. I try and stay out of debates about liverpool stuff especially hillsborough and heyesel cuz i cannot say ive looked into it myself and got an impartial view of it. Wouldnt try and exonerate them. hell i don't think i could! its not for me to judge!
Freesolo Posted 29 May 2015 Posted 29 May 2015 Wonder how much they paid him? Wa**ker!http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/ex-liverpool-captain-phil-neal-insists-5785086
davieG Posted 29 May 2015 Posted 29 May 2015 Well it wasn't the first time a hoard of fans had pursued fans of another team practically every team in England had a set of fans doing the same thing on a regular basis, yes including LCFC fans. So let's not get all high and mighty about this I can recall many a time where I've been shit scared of being in the way of marauding LCFC fans as I've tried to hide with my young sons and daughter. Sure the Liverpool fans who were responsible were utter arsewipes and shouldn't be allowed to forget this and the disaster itself should be raised as a constant reminder of not only those fans that died but how clubs wilfully neglected the maintenance of stadia and how the man fans of that era behaved because make no mistake that could have been any English team in that stadium on that night doing exactly the same thing. England deserved to be banned and anyone who moans about the soulless state of football today and the restrictions placed on fans can put the blame on the 1000s of fans that behaved in the same way as those Liverpool fans.
