Ultra Posted 4 September 2005 Posted 4 September 2005 But there is a lot Sam Allardyce can do about it! Give us a break, we hoof the ball too much already!
Fox 4 Life Posted 4 September 2005 Posted 4 September 2005 Its true what Ultra says, look at Gerrard and Lampard for their clubs, they are immense, when they play for England they look dis-interested and plain average to be honest!

I think they under perform for England because of the system Sven Plays I don't think they can play together in the current system, if you are going to play 4-5-1 I would have played Carrick infront of the defence with SWP on the RW and Lampard and Gerrard in the middle which would have given them the chance to pay how they normally play without having to worry to much about covering the defence giving them the freedom that they need!! I think Big Sam is a great manager but not sure if he would be able to handle to the big egos that come with big name players although I expect he wouldn't take much s**t and wouldn't play players on past reputations like our current manager does which may be of benefit to the national team!! as for him playing Hoof Ball it's all about results and as I often think a team like Bolton or Leicester plays a long ball and it's boring hoof ball Man Utd or Chelsea hoof the ball upfield and it's wonderfull vision to pick out the striker from defence
