Tuna Posted 31 October 2015 Posted 31 October 2015 1/11/2008 We beat Bristol Rovers 2-1 in League One. Essentially this was the result that rejuvenated our season after a four game winless run including defeat from 2-0 up at Micky Adams' Brighton and home draws against Walsall and Northampton. We were losing to Rovers and it took two late Fryatt goals to win the match. We then defeated Scunthorpe away later that month (Dyer!!!) to replace them at the top of league one and we didn't lose again in the league until March. Now look where we are. I think its testament to the continued hard work of everyone associated with the club over many years that we have continued our success, I know we probably wouldn't have had the success we've had without our new owners, and we've had one or two false starts, but its humbling to consider not that long ago we were playing Stockport, Hereford and Cheltenham in league matches and this one match probably for me was where it all began. As for a bit of symmetry today's penalty was converted by Lambert who played for Bristol that day. I don't know how high we can finish this season or where it will go but it's great to sit back and enjoy the good times for a change. Long may it continue, up the City!
teblin Posted 31 October 2015 Posted 31 October 2015 Saw Mr fryatt out and about in Staffordshire today.
Guest Manini Posted 31 October 2015 Posted 31 October 2015 Was at this game, their lad scored an absolute belter. Was saying to my mate ahh let's go, can't see us getting anything here. Then Matty did his stuff (as he so often did that season) and it turned out to be a great finish.
