Vardinio'sCat Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 This is written by an american journo who really gets in to the nitty gritty of what we need to do for CL, I thought it was quite interesting, others may differ. http://www.espn.co.uk/soccer/barclays-premier-league/23/blog/post/2787039/leicester-dont-need-luck-in-race-for-champions-league-places Take home message, we don't need CL/2015 form from here on in, we can afford the odd wobble and still make it
Carl the Llama Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 I'm always a bit wary of ppg analysis. It can be useful when there's a discrepancy in games played for whatever reason but when we've all played the same amount it's basically an unnecessarily abstract way of talking about the points tally. Obviously the team with 43 points after 21 games has a better ppg than the team with 36 points after 21 games and so obviously the latter team will have to score more points over the rest of the season than the former team, a feat which by the very definition of their respective amount of points after the same number of games played requires one of those teams to change how quickly they're picking up points. I don't like redundant stats.
Thracian Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Interesting in its way but just theoretical hypothesis. Truth is we don't get given the points by the likes of Villa or Swansea - we have to play well and earn them. Anything less and the theory goes straight into the garbage bin.
