elvisfmcfly Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 It's hard to mark our performances with any enthusiasm. Two points needlessly wasted along with the two against Bournemouth suggests some real problems need sorting fast in terms of both attitude and personnel. Kasper: 6 (Didn't have a lot to do but did have a hand in the goal). Simpson 6 (Not as convincing as usual even defensively) Morgan 6.75 (Simple but vital interception after Huth's horror miskick saved what may well have been a goal) .75 cant be serious surely. Huth 4.5 (Aerial dominance spoiled by the miskick that so nearly cost a goal and two clumsy pieces of defending which might both have cost us penalties). Fuchs 6.5 (Well involved and defensively sound enough but even his distribution became careless. Long floated passes to nowhere in particular were meat and drink to the Villa defenders). Mahrez 3 (Cost us two points to go with the two he cost us against Bournemouth and for the same stupid reasons. Offered sure signs that we're not improving as a team any longer. Contributed very little generally - as has been the case for several games now - suggesting that he's either been sussed, that he's lost focus or that his mind is elsewhere. Either way I'd take £30m in a shot if it were offered). Drinkwater 6 (Missed an excellent chance to settle the game from about 10 yards and never seemed to show the determination needed to take it. One decent effort confirmed an improved willingness to shoot but - as usual - without success. Thought his passing was up and down like so many others). Kante 6 (Busy as ever but below his best again. No goals threat that I noticed). Albrighton 6 (Huffed and puffed but didn't really didn't look like blowing the Villa house down. Just not scary enough.) Vardy 6.5 (Looked our brightest hope and made our goal with a deft flick out of nothing. Two or three other opportunities from the crumbs he was fed and one particularly good chance blasted over). Shinji 6.5 (Another ugly goal but they all count and he at least got himself into the six yard box to make it happen. Otherwise just a typical Shinji day with lots of effort, lots of indifferent ball control but a boundless spirit) Didn't stop to see the subs but for Ranieri it was an awful day, a game thrown away and, with it, probably any chance of winning the title.
elvisfmcfly Posted 18 January 2016 Posted 18 January 2016 If Mahrez's shot wasn't saved by the defender then he'd get ratings of 7 or 8. He wasn't anywhere near as bad as some idiots are suggesting. Some one is wearing their biased mahrez goggles.
