bald reynard Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 In the (temporary ?) absence of the FT 'official' stats based player ratings, I thought I'd post a thread up. Nalis Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 In the (temporary ?) absence of the FT 'official' stats based player ratings, I thought I'd post a thread up. I'll kick it off with my thoughts:- Schmeichel - 8 Simpson - 7 Morgan - 7 Huth - 6 Fuchs - 8 Mahrez - 6 Kante - 7 Drinkwater - 8 (MoM) Albrighton - 7 Vardy - 7 Okazaki - 7 Gray - 6 De Laet - 6 Ulloa - 5 I disagree with all of the ratings except De Laet, he definitely deserved a -6.
Guest ttfn Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Schmeichel 7 - hard to think of much he did wrong, decent handling. Simpson 7 - again, played reasonably well I thought. Morgan 8 - very good again, massively improved. Huth 5 - had a sort of ok game apart from that absolutely stupid flailing arm. Fuchs 5 - Thought that was his worst game for a while, not helped at all by the total lack of movement in front of him. Mahrez 2 - awful. Can't believe he lasted as long as he did. Drinkwater 7 - decent for the most part but couldn't get hold of it for much of the second half and missed a sitter. Kante 6 - far less effective than before Christmas. Albrighton 6 - meh Okazaki 8 - best player on the pitch. Vardy 6 - not playing like Vardy at all at the moment and its severely damaging the team. Great effort for Okazaki's goal. Subs: De Laet 6 - did his best. Ulloa 3 - struggling to remember the last time he had a particularly good game. Ref 3 - very poor for both sides.
The Doctor Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Schmeichel - 7 - rarely troubled, did what he was asked of well, no chance with the goal Simpson - 6 - stood up fairly well against their left side Morgan - 7 - solid, did little wrong Huth - 4 - awful back pass that got bailed out by kasper and all over the place in general Fuchs - 6 - didn't get much joy but both wingers were anonymous Mahrez - 1 - the penalty that at best was insulting doesn't even top it, absolutely everything he tried failed and he looked very lazy in every aspect, as good as he's been all season he was the complete opposite last night Drinkwater - 6 - didn't get as much control as I'd hoped and a poor attempt from the cross Kanté - 6 - bit quiet Albrighton - 5 - tried too hard early on and then disappeared completely Okazaki - 9 - great all round performance, pinned them back, won a shocking amount of headers for someone of his stature. So long as he was on the pitch, there was only one team going to win the match Vardy - 6 - didn't really look sharp but a great attempt for shinjis goal Subs: De Laet - 6 - steady, decent ball in for ulloa and helped shore up the right flank Ulloa - 4 - didn't offer much, caught on his heels when de laet played an excellent cross as well Grey - not on long enough Ranieri - 5 - got the subs all wrong and set up to play for the 1-0 far too early when we're more than good enough to have put them to the sword Ref - 5 - going well up until Huths swinging arm on Kozak, once he missed that he bottled the performance.
weller54 Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Changed my mind.. Mahrez 0 ....and that's only because we're not allowed minus scores! Possibly the worse performance by any Leicester player this season!
okie fox Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Schmeichel - 7 Simpson - 6 Morgan - 7 Huth - 4 Fuchs - 6 Mahrez - 5 Kante - 6 Drinkwater - 6 Albrighton - 6 Vardy - 7 Okazaki - 7 Gray - 6 De Laet - 5 Ulloa - 4
LAprice_ Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Schmeichel - 7 - Standard performance plus a typically great long ball that led to the goal Simpson - 7 - Impressive, seemed to be involved a lot Morgan - 8 - Easily the most underrated CB in the league. It's not just fluke that he has 0 yellow cards and Huth has 7 Huth - 5 - He looked a bit too casual at times. With Wasyl and Benny lurking, he really needs to be careful. Fuchs - 6 - Average Mahrez - 3 - You can tell after about 5 minutes whether or not he's worth keeping on the pitch. Today he wasn't. Kante - 7 - Forever consistent. Drinkwater - 7 - Bit subdued at times but he seems to be getting forward a bit more now, looked most likely to score at times! Albrighton - 6 - Loads of energy but no real substance. Okazaki - 8 - Massively underrated and hidden behind the Vardy limelight. Vardy - 5 - It's not a word associated with Vardy very often but for the past few weeks he's looked slow. SUBS De Laet - 6 - To his credit he came on in an unnatural position and looked more of an attacking threat than one of the Premier League's players of the season. Ulloa - 5 - Apart from being a bit slow to react to a cross, he was pretty much invisible. That's not so much a negative but not really a positive either. Gray - N/A - Not on long enough. Few decent touches, nothing special. Notes: Call me mad but I really miss Schlupp, he's strong, pacey and completely unpredictable. He's also a player capable of shooting from outside the box (occasionally), I can't wait for him the be fit again. He's the only left-footed left winger we have and I think that can never be underestimated. A lot of players look like they need to be dropped, not because of punishment but because they look lethargic (Mahrez...)
LcFc_Smiv Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Schmeichel 7 - Not a great deal to do, a decent 1 on 1 save but I think we would be upset to concede that.Simpson 6 - Didn't do anything wrong, was targeted by their left side, his performances seem to match how the team play as a whole.Morgan 6 - Good, nothing special from the big man.Huth 5 - First off, although penalties are given for less I'm not buying the elbow to the face. Feet planted eyes on the ball the whole way, his arm comes back but look at the one he scored the other day similar header similar movement, Villa were looking for it all day. However it was a poor showing from the hero of last week, how he managed to miss hit that back pass is astounding.Fuchs 6 - Coped with what came his way well, a silly foul towards the end out of frustration. I'd like to see him put some crosses into a target man, Ulloa for whatever reason just isn't a threat in the box atm and I think Fuchs assists would increase with a striker who can get onto these long ballsMahrez 3 - Can't keep riding along in the team with his recent performances, we're sacrificing a very good right winger out left because Mahrez is automatically taking this spot. With the arrival of Gray I think it's about time someone helps him to understand complacency no matter how good you were earlier in the season is not acceptable. Tired or not he looks uninterested which is the most frustrating part. I'm trying to forget the penalty.Drinkwater 7 - Normally he can't hit a barn door but when he does produce that strike from distance it's something special and took another decent save to keep him out. Good all round performance, think he and Kante were let down by some of those around them. I usually find Drinkwaters expressions to reflect those of the fans and his face at the end of the game was one of frustration and knowing that it wasn't good enough. Kante 7 - Think ratings for him have been harsh, the lad put himself everywhere, won the ball no end. We can't expect him to win the second as well because those around him aren't backing him up. Passing went a miss at times but he had to keep going out to do a job on that right side as well to help the team. This was one of his bad days and he still looks like a gem of a playerAlbrighton 5 - Probably a harsh rating, but what can we expect the lad to do on that left wing. Puts himself in the right position but the cut back and ball from the left just isn't working, I don't know if it's because we don't have a real threat at the moment. I'd love to see him on the right like last season.Okazaki 7- Finally made the point to me that he should be ahead of Ulloa, great effort from him today he was everywhere and I feel if he had been kept on the pitch we would probably have gone on to win. On a negative note he's got to stop going down under some of these nudges from behind, refs aren't going to give them, whether there was contact or not on the edge of the box the theatrics aren't needed.Vardy 5 - Mixed bag, what an effort for the goal but his all round play was lacking today. I think a lot of it requires the players around him to help him out and we don't seem to be supplying him with the same kind of balls atm. Frustrating for him and maybe missing that bit of confidence to be a bit more direct and take on the defender, at the moment he seems to be taking himself wide of the goal a lot. For that last effort I was screaming for him to pull it back to Ulloa or Kante who was flying in, whether Ulloa would have got it out of his feet who knows but for me the shot was the wrong decision but most I've spoken to have told me it was the right choice. Ranieri and the Subs 4- Think our manager got it very wrong, why Okazaki came off as early as he did is very disappointing. I understand why he thought Simpson needed DeLaet for extra cover but I would rather have put Albrighton out on that wing and gave Gray the chance to go and kill them off. Ulloa looks like a lost man at the moment and I would rather have seen us crowd the midfield with King and hope to get something on the counter without the ball having to go through Ulloa. Villa were always going to put a fight now that only wins will do, not a fan of the fact they call for everything but it's desperate times for them. One thing I can't quite understand is why they prefer every other striker to start over Gestede, they only ever seem to score or look like a threat when he comes on and if I was a Villa fan I'd be looking at the failing of Sherwood and Garde to get him involved. Also looking at their squad there's a lot of names but no real talent, apart from Ayew, Gestede and maybe Bacuna at a push it really shows how mismanaged they have been.
Alf Bentley Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Kasper 6 Simpson 6 Morgan 7 Huth 3 Fuchs 6 Drinkwater 7 Kante 6 Albrighton 3 Mahrez 1 Vardy 6 Okazaki 6 Gray 5 De laet 4 Ulloa 2 That looks about right to me. Except.... - I'd definitely give Okazaki at least a 7 (DK why he was subbed off - injured/tired?), - Maybe a 7 for Vardy, too (looked quicker and sharper than recent games, created the goal, just missed a couple of chances - it happens). - I'd give De Laet a 6, too - didn't do anything very wrong. - I agree with your Mahrez rating: his penalty typified his truly dismal overall performance - half-hearted and ineffectual. I seriously hope that was just a "bad day at the office" for him and doesn't represent a shift in his attitude to being at LCFC.

Fox92 Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Schmeichel 7 - No chance with the Villa goal.Simpson 7Morgan 8Huth 5Fuchs 6 - Probably his worst game hereMahrez 2 - Awful. How he wasn't taken off at HT is beyond me.Drinkwater 7Kante 7Albrighton 6 - Somewhat tried to hard (no coincidence it was against Villa).Okazaki 8 - MOTM - Our best player. Vardy 7 - Thought he was decent enough but I'm not convinced he's fully fit. One bad decision was shooting at that tight angle (Ulloa was basically free). ------ Ref 2 - Never rated him as a ref anyway. Reneiri 5 - Got it wrong taking Okazaki off.
lgfualol Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 4s to Huth and Mahrez and 5 for Albrighton and Vardy. 6 to everyone else Ulloa 0 and De Laet 1
NewquayFox Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Kasper 7 couple of great saves. Simpson 7 steady again. Wes 7 kept his head again. Huth 6 not at his best. Fuchs 5 poor by his standards. Mahrez 3 worst game in a bad run. Drinky 8 quietly got in with the job. Kante 6 gone off the boil a bit. Albrighton 4 needs a kick up the ass. Vardy 5 poor finishing by his high standards. Okazaki 8 ran and ran looks a lot better. Subs De Laet 5 not good enough to make a difference. Ulloa 2 absolute waste of a shirt, so slow. Gray N/A not on long enough.... Ranieri 5 got the subs completely wrong today I'm afraid, our main threat was Okazaki so unless he was injured in not sure why he took him off. Villa 3 crap team. Officials 4 and that's being generous as an ex Ref the standard in the Premier League is so poor this season.... Up the City..
les-tah Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 If Ranieri much prefers Ulloa then how utterly awful must Kramaric be? cant explain how bad he must be in training Poor bloke
Karljohn Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 If Ranieri much prefers Ulloa then how utterly awful must Kramaric be? cant explain how bad he must be in training Poor bloke Exactly, we have a hit and miss striker in Okazaki and Vardy who was bound to hit a barren spell. Kramaric not rated and Ulloa hasnt done anything for 12 months now. Certainly need another striker in.
Fox92 Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 I'm not saying Ulloa is the answer but he isn't going to change a game coming on with 20 minutes to go each week.

Leicesterpool Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 I'm not saying Ulloa is the answer but he isn't going to change a game coming on with 20 minutes to go each week. Ulloa was fantastic for the foxes last season but this season I feel when he does play he slows down the play, for me when Ulloa comes on I can't see goal coming. The style football we play doesn't suit Ulloa. We could do with a striker with a bit of pace and strength, basically another Vardy.
Wolfox Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Schmeichel 7 - did nothing wrong Fuchs 7 - fine Morgan 7.5 - he's really rather good isn't he? Huth 5.5 - plays on the edge, two big errors and centre halves are judged on their errors as centre forwards are judged on their goals Simpson 6.5 - becoming mr consistent at right back Albrighton 6 - solid if uninspiring Kante 6.5 - busy, but, limited impact Drinkwater 7.5 - good game and probably MOTM Mahrez 5 - off day - he's cost us four points of late, but, he's gained many more in previous games, his penalty was nervy and tepid, much like his performance Vardy 6.5 - sharper, but, seems to have lost a yard of pace Okazaki 7.5 - certainly starting to show a lot more threat now - runner up MOTM Ranieri - why did you take Shinji off instead of Mahrez? Villa - doomed Ref - our penalty was a bit harsh

ThaiFox Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Ranieri -5- Subs were poor, took off the wrong player in Okazaki, but left Mahrez on far too long. Second half we looked lazy and disinterested and he did little to shake it up. Kasper -7- Excellent today. No chance with goal and made ours with usual quick thinking. Whatever anyone says, he would walk into 14 other P/L sides. Simpson -7- Thought he played well.Morgan -7- Played well. Shame their 'goal' hit him as I think Kasper would have saved the shot.Huth -5- I keep saying he must watch himself. He's going to cost us soon, although I thought their front players were trying to push him off the ball and he just held his ground.Fuchs -5- He has been superb, but his standards slipped last night. Mahrez -3- Completely lost his form. Needs a spell out of the team to sharpen him. Maybe he's fallen for all the hype about him? Is his mind 100% with us in this window?Drinky -8- My MOTM. Thought he was excellent. Some of his passing was sublime.Kante -6- Looked jaded to me. Certainly not the Kante we have seen so far this season.Albrighton -5- Worked hard as usual, but not much came from him. Vardy -5- Is obviously about 65% fit. Needs to have a week or two out the team, maybe put Okazaki in his place until he's back to 100%?Okazaki -7- Much, much better from him. Looked sharp, full of running and is gaining confidence. Subs: De Laet -4- A crazy sub. Ranieri should have brought Gray on instead of him.Ulloa -4- Poor. Just don't know why he doesn't put himself around more.Gray -6- Not on long enough to make any difference. Should have come on at half time to replace Mahrez.Villa -5- Showed spirit in second half, but that was because we let them off the hook with a very lazy 45 minutes. Will go down and struggle. Officials -4- The standard in the Premier League is poor this season, and he did nothing to show otherwise. Next league match is Stoke. As we looked so much fresher with our B team in the cup, I wonder if CR should play that team to give players a rest and a kick up the ass? Shame we have that cup reply before then to distract us.
Rasmic123 Posted 17 January 2016 Posted 17 January 2016 Ref - 5 - going well up until Huths swinging arm on Kozak, once he missed that he bottled the performance. that's bloody generous
