An old Leicester fan tries to explain what this means

Used to live in Southampton, and rather liked the old Dell and watching Le God. See you at the Amsterdam Tavern... If we win, I'll buy you a beer...

Nice one. The fact that it is the only game on at that time and there will be Saints & Leicester fans there to watch it (you can't always assume this) means I will try and make the effort to crawl down there...

Thanks St Louis fox, that was brilliant, got me through the last 15 mins at work. Thoroughly enjoyable read.

On a personal note I'm still just hoping for champions league, can't even comprehend winning it just yet, until it's mathematically done, we've been hurt before.

Think my fav thread was about how you lot are getting hassled now for being glory-supporters. When you tell someone you are a Leicester fan you are now met with distrust until you prove you are a real one. Funny. Think it would be the same if Saints 'did a Leicester'. We sort of have in the last couple of years but obviously not to the ridiculous extent that you have.

It's happened to me. I was out in a work kitchen (not in Leicester) a while back making a cuppa as a colleague, that I've never spoken to about football before, spotted my LCFC mug and gave me that raised eyebrow look. "Leicester City ??" he asks, "are you a fan??", I was about to confirm that I'm a STH but just really couldn't be arsed to explain that I'm not a glory boy. "nar... " I replied, "I just like the mug", and walked off.

Loved your post St Louis Fox, I too grew up in your era/day in Leicester, moved to Cleveland, Ohio 1969. Loved Gordon Banks growing up.

I have watched every Leicester City game televised on the weekend on NBC sports and what a ride it's been, look forward to every weekend just for the Leicester games.

If you get up near Cleveland send me a post. Go Foxes!!!!

Sums all my experiences up. Heartbreak, hope, failure, highs, lows, bemusement, frustration, anger and joy. All emotions I have experienced over the last 56 years.

If we can realise the dream, not only would this be for us all, but also for those past players and supporters, and that is what it would mean to me.
