Question for gold members who get family stand tickets

I'm a gold member with son who aged 9 years old living in the south, so far i managed to get tickets for Swansea and Burnley online, but I wonder how easy it been for gold members here to get tickets in the family stand, My dilemma I have a choice of ringing up box office or buying online, at the moment where tickets are limited I dare not risk ringing up and not been able to get through or be told there are no family stand tickets available and missing out on getting tickets online. I did ask box office before the start of the season  if i bought tickets online and then ring to see if family stand ticket if i could then swap them, but was told no, even through I did this last season when i bought tickets mid row thinking they were end of row but call to box office they happily exchange to end of row seats.

It's just where I have the additional cost of travelling up, if i could get family tickets it would reduce my outlay for each match and it would allow me to get more games

Last year my other half managed to get family stand tickets about once despite being a family member, what few were available went that quick. Managed to get some for swansea this season but we're away for arse so can't really gauge it yet.

i tried a few times as a city member last season i got tickets once but rest of time just seemed a case if you were lucky enough to ring up at a time they had just had tickets returned to club, I wondered if been a gold member might give me a better chance, seems not, so i will stick to buying straight away when they come online. My son wont mind as he doesn't like the family stand haha he prefers to be in the east stand.

i made it into the family stand once last years (southampton) and that was ringing at 9am to get tickets every time chances are slim at best i would say.
