CollinsLCFC Posted 10 October 2016 Posted 10 October 2016 Anybody know any way of getting out of Phone contracts fee free? My provider (Vodafone) have been charging me between £10 & £16 more per month for my bundle for the past few months months. Each month is different and unpredictable. I usually pay £21.70 per month which was offered as a discounted deal (24 month contract) as I was planning to leave at the end of my previous contract due to the poor service. I am about 14 months in, and the past 3-4 months, I have been charged £31 a couple of times and £37. When I questioned them, they advised they 'forgot' to apply the discount and would apply it on the next bill, they said they will also 'amend' my next bill to £13.02 to make up the difference (Although this still doesn't fully rectify the difference). Anyway, I couldn't be bothered to argue and just wanted it sorted, but got my bill through today, and been charged £31 again! I have put in a formal complaint and waiting a response, but can only imagine they will apologise and refund the difference. I just want out with no charge, does anybody know if this is a possibility?

Will have a good look through 'Your Rights' Already lodged a complaint with them, so see what they return with. But good to see the process and how to escalate in a nutshell.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 10 October 2016 Posted 10 October 2016 As you are technically in a contract still, there is little you can actually do in regards to terminating it mate, unless you of course pay it off. What I would do is ring up, play the "I've been a loyal customer for years, never had any problems except for now," card and chances are they will sort it all out. Try to demand to speak to a manager if you can. I'm not sure if this applies to Vodafone but with o2 you can actually lower your contract if you want when you get half-way through the length. So if you took a 24 month contract out you may be able to reduce your tariff. Have you popped into a vodafone store too? They may be able to help you out too. Phone contracts can be such a ballache at times. Edit: Try being forceful too and demand they pay the money back to you asap rather than knocking it off bills etc.
CollinsLCFC Posted 11 October 2016 Author Posted 11 October 2016 Seems to be a big problem with Vodafone, anybody who has them as a network provider should check their billing: http://www.itv.com/news/2016-06-09/every-vodafone-customer-urged-to-check-bills-after-it-is-named-worst-network-in-uk/
Nick Posted 11 October 2016 Posted 11 October 2016 Anybody found any decent deals on a new iPhone 7plus and provider? Seems much of a muchness out there but data is seemingly the new dry bumming lubricant for these robbers at the moment.
Vardinhio Posted 12 October 2016 Posted 12 October 2016 I was getting overcharged by Vodafone but I kid you not I phoned up and expressed my unhappiness and now I have the following: -unlimited minutes -unlimited texts -10GB data -free picture messaging All for £6.48 a month. I got this deal 18 months in to a 24 month contract where my previous package was £28 for 500 mins, unlimited texts, 500mb data.
