Mezeker Posted 14 January 2017 Posted 14 January 2017 I just want to understand why in a football culture where divisions of labor is so apparent (variety in skills) why we have spent so much money on players with very similar skill sets. when the players you purchase, your mentality, and way of playing ALL center around outworking your opponent to win football games something has to give. You can't outwork teams week in week out, eventually you will come up against skilled teams that work just as hard as you do. Why is Mahrez the ONLY player in the squad that has any capability of creating anything? Why did we sign 2 defensive midfielders, one being almost identical in play stay to Drinkwater. Why did we sign Musa when he is so similar to Vardy? We were linked to players like Hatem Ben Arfa, why did we not sign anybody with a similar skill set? I don't understand how we can spend sooo much money on players that have such a LOW technical level? How can you blame our players for being less skilled week in week out than most of the teams in the premier league? Would this of happened if Walsh didin't leave for Everton? We ****ed this up in the offseason, it has nothing to do with formations, effort, we have too many one dimentional players that offer and do the EXACT SAME THING!
SheppyFox Posted 14 January 2017 Posted 14 January 2017 Here's hoping we fix it in January and sign players that want to be on the ball, and can keep it
lgfualol Posted 14 January 2017 Posted 14 January 2017 Club were naive. Thought we'd be able to play the same as last season and too busy wanking themselves silly with cash. Hope we can rebuild if we stay up, ship out players who literally have shit running down their legs as they get the ball, and replace with hungry players. It's just awful that we have zero shots on target in games and you have our defence pretty much playing as playmakers.
