Ric Flair Posted 3 September 2004 Posted 3 September 2004 After a shocking start to the season it seems the majority of city fans have lost patience with Mickeh. I for one am upset with the way things are going and mistakes have been made at this club for too long under Adams. The thing is though, he has signed some good players and on paper our squad is one of the best in the league. It will not surprise me if we still get promoted or atleast have a damn good go at it, so if Adams does turn it around will people be happy or do they want him to go? Is his time up? Surely it's only a matter of time before we start winnings, irrespective of the manager's meddling. I am unsure what's best for the club, I think somewhere down the line there will be bother with Adams again if he stays but I think he still can get us promoted again. If he goes, Bassett has got to go too. If the board put him back in charge, i'm off too. Bassett is clueless in this day and age and I think he's pickled Adams brain, often a change is all that is needed to get a team going again and we need a new man with fresh ideas. There are too many things that annoy me about Adams (the style of play, the formation, the players playing out of position, the subsitutions, his reluctance to give the youth a chance, his love of anyone with experience) the list goes on and until he gets us winning again they will all come under scrutiny. **** it, after writing that let's bomb him out, off you go Mickeh.
Marcoos Posted 3 September 2004 Posted 3 September 2004 Something needs to change and fast. Our squad is extremely good for this division on paper but we play on grass (after some of the displays this season I think playing on grass is true in both senses...) :w00t: I used to be a supporter of Micky but he seems to have lost the plot tactically and does not seem to be able to motivate and so unless things change soon he should go and in the long run I think a change would be good for the club anyway. There are people on this site that support introducing the kids. I was a bit reluctant to do this but we now have nothing to lose. We are losing and playing shit with experienced players so give kids with enthusiasm, pride and ambition a go . If 1 star is uncovered the it is a sucess and we might even win a game or 2 :w00t:
Ric Flair Posted 3 September 2004 Author Posted 3 September 2004 Look at the buzz the fans had when Piper came on to the scene, he was the only bright spark of 2001/02 and if we had unearthed him earlier in the season we might of stayed up. When a young home grown player with talent bursts on to the scene it gives everyone a lift and boy do we need a lift. We haven't really got any players that get the fans excited, because of the way Adams deals in the transfer market we never build up any rapport with players as the turnover of playing staff at this club is ludicrous. Get Dawson, Stearman and Wrighty in.
Scow Posted 3 September 2004 Posted 3 September 2004 I used to be a big supporter of Micky, but my patience is also growing thin after watching some of the worst football in my life. I still maintain we need to give him more time. Let see if he can turn it around and get us back on track. There is no point in getting rid of Micky if we have no replacement lined up because that will do more harm than good. And when I mean replacement, I don't mean that dinosaur Bassett. I wonder if Micky ever watches the reserve or youth games? - I didn't see him at the two reserve games I've been to this season, he must be relying on what Shirtliff advises him, which I think shows a lack of interest and professinalism on his part. After watching the reserves, I certainly think someone like Dawson is ready for the first team. If you're good enough, you're old enough. Dawson has so much energy and committment, which is more than you can say for the other players in the first team. Not is he just committed, but he also has a lot of talent. He seems to have all the attributes of a complete midfielder. Get him in. But I doubt that will happen under Micky.....
Ricey Posted 3 September 2004 Posted 3 September 2004 Drastic changes need to be made but as it stands I'm not sure a change of manager will a good choice. Micky needs to sort himself and the players out, if he hasn't done that in 4 or 5 games time then give him the sack.

This club is capable of much much worse. Hang on to your hats everybody.

Guest freund Posted 3 September 2004 Posted 3 September 2004 To be honest adams just seems to predictable, whether thats the team he picks (ie going for experience over youth), or tactics (ie the hoof). I think many teams haved sussed this and adopt tactics to face our style of play.
