Can you work out odds and stats? If you have never played on line before the best thing is to play Play Money for a while. You then need to read some books re starting hands, position and play. I'm not very good but I think I'm better than some. My elder brother now plays all the time as a professional player. His study is full of books and folders of stats and his playing records. It depends on how serious you are. The thing is don't play with more than you are prepared to lose. If you want to play just for fun after a night on the piss then there are plenty of players of the same. That is also when the better players play cos they know it's easy money. I'm talking about Texas Holdem here. The other types of poker 7 card stud, draw,and Omaha I don't play. Good luck.
New England Fox Posted 4 October 2005 Posted 4 October 2005 I play poker all the time, on 3 different sites, sometimes i win and sometimes i lose. I never lose much money though as I tend to stick to 0.05/0.10 games,with the occaisonal 'sit and go' thrown in.

Stuliasz Posted 4 October 2005 Posted 4 October 2005 Poker is such a brilliant game, I play on PartyPoker for Play Money most of the times, and then play $5 buy-in tournaments twice a week so as not to go crazy with money I can't afford to lose.
