Very poor coach is a stretch, but I agree I think the amount of praise the man has got when most people within the club describe his best decision as "leaving things how they were" is astounding really. He got an IX winning and spotted weakness's in our full backs (wasn't he a full back himself?) and fixed that, from there we never once looked back. He was probably the perfect man to have in charge with the players on such a charge, his joking larking about looking like he didn't give a shit etc did an absloutley fantastic job of removing the pressure and I think the relaxed attitude really rubbed off on the players, I am still convinced there are very few men who could of seen that title win through. This season we've seen the Ranieri everyone expected to see sacked first last season, tinkering, 101 different tactics yet all of them involve Wes Morgan trying to be David Beckham, faliure to acknowledge serious problems at the club, he's been medelling with the back room staff and changing things. When it comes to things like that Giles is right, he is not a good manager, his track record has many examples of that fact. I still say if people want to hero worship Ranieri and make us the villain more power to them I really do not care. I happily gave you a notification, I agree on all the base points you presented well, except one. This idea that Claudio isnt a good manger. I have posted in other threads, that he IMO doesnt belong, in that high Level of WC special managers, also should not be rated has poor, or just, another also ran. One can opinionate if he belongs in the top 12 of his generation across europe..He wasnt a failure, or below avg.If so I could say blindly that 101% of all football forum Posters through the UK would be struggling through their Own lives. In UK alone c we have 4 leagues, over the last 20yrs where good managers havent even seen top 8 of the PL or 1st div before, not forgetting good managers, who struggle to even get back into the game. Labelling Claudio has a poor manager for not winning the league or coming 2nd, Or not reaching all the heights, is poor Or lazy judgement and analyse over his career. Yes IMO, he struggled in the 2nd season , he went against the idea and well set successfull group of backroom staff, by his stance ridiculing a group the players would of become accustomed to and had confidence with. Not forgetting the platforms they had were successfull, for more than one season. His tactics this season seemed even more defensive, showing lack of pressing individual opponent players, our movement didnt have the intensity or cohesion of last season. Criticise his individual ways, and opinionate on his poor and successfull coaching/management Moments, IMO his career is still something to be proud of.
