Vålerenga vs Rosenberg

So I was in Olso this weekend and I saw a few football shirts and I thought there might be a game and I am missing watching City quite a lot.

They were absolutely mental. I went and asked for tickets in the cheapest part of the ground so I was right in the middle of their Kop. Massive flags banners, streamers and non stop singing. It was absolutely quality. I'd post photos on here but they're over the 1.9 mb limit. Such a good load of lads too.

Sounds great, Out of interest what is Oslo like?

My plan for next season without a European tour of our own is to do a couple of city breaks which include going to watch a football match. So many different places to choose from.

It's bloody expensive. £10+ a pint. So what you do is buy duty free (outside the Eu) but it's absolutely amazing. Such a pretty city similar to Stockholm and Copenhagen but more expensive. The fans were so welcoming

Yeah i can imagine it being expensive, I've been to Tromso and that was also crazy money for everything.

I heard the locals drive over the border to go shopping lol

The one good part is that tickets are so cheap. For my team, Sirius, its 2300kr for a season ticket for both home and away games so that's about 200 quid for 30 games. If you go to Stockholm and the derby isn't on make sure to go to Hammarby, they have the best fans (and they bloody know it) but they are very impressive.

Its interesting how Scandi football culture is actually really very good, if I go to a Sirius game in the supporters section its always full to the rafters and singing for the whole game.

That would be the Ultras Ikaros.

Few of us off here met a Valerenga ultra in the Union Berlin away end when over with Bochum. He was half German half English but now lived in Oslo.

Interesting talking to him about the Scandinavian ultras scene.

You have to sell your house to buy a round of drinks, but it is very beautiful and chilled. Has the feel of a capital but is still a relatively small city so not too crazy. Frogner Park is lovely (esp in the summer - lots of good looking Scandinavians chilling in the sunshine ) and plenty of museums.

It was amazing. On my instagram (@thatpoliticsguy) there is a video of them singing with some of the pre match stuff with the banners. The ultra scene was just bloody lovely. I think the small compactness of behind the goal made is so much better.

It it was about £22 or so (440kr) I think for me and my little sister. I would happily go and see them again. Least now I've got a Norwegian team to follow now!
