Yes he was mate. The first ever game he took me to was Forest v Everton in ‘81. I think he was hoping I’d be an Everton fan but Forest won 1-0 with a Kenny Burns screamer. I kept bugging him to take me to Filbo and my first game there was in ‘82. He took me regular after that until I started going with my mates around ‘88. I’ve always had a soft spot for Everton after Lineker went there to be honest.
