Ric Flair Posted 18 October 2005 Posted 18 October 2005 Yes, a right winger would be good, to provide competition for Sylla and maybe dislodge him from the starting line-up. tbh we should never have got rid of Gillespie, Sylla offers nothing more than he did. Gillespie was too inconsistent and epitomised everything we were last season, nothing special. He might be doing alright at Sheff United but he's in a team that's flying high and he's being carried by them. If you put him back in a team like ours then he'd shoot back in his shell. He's a hermit.
Thracian Posted 18 October 2005 Posted 18 October 2005 We certainly don't need any filler for the team. With Goal-Smith, Weso and even Chambers coming into contention in the forseeable future and signings now want to be of real quality or have genuine potential. This side is shaping up to be more than decent. There is competition/adaptability all over the field. We don't want more of the same because that will only provoke disharmony with too many players not getting a regular game. Already I think Levein may offload one or two come the window opening. Williams, Wilcox plus Joey or Tiatto spring to mind. Why? Because I cannot see any but one of the last two named getting even a place on the bench. Any incomers must be strengthening what we've got not just matching them. Its when I think about this I realise just how far we have come. This time last year I'd look at the squad and think we'd got nothing more than journeymen who, even on their best days, wouldn't raise the temperature very high. Guesss who's got most of them now?
Gené and Tonic Posted 18 October 2005 Author Posted 18 October 2005 I'd be very disapointed if Joey went.
alieren7 Posted 18 October 2005 Posted 18 October 2005 I would prefer a pacy winger who can play both on the left and right. I think we get enough crosses but there s not a real 'target man' up front.
