Mark Posted 7 September 2004 Posted 7 September 2004 Not sure who scored for us yet but Gary McSheffrey scored 2 for Coventry. CITY: Dane Austin, Brian Moogan, Alan Sheehan, Jay Smedley (Scott Lycett), Liam Powell, Stephen Dawson, Dominic Pearmain (James Graham), Aarran Butcher, Tommy Wright, Chris O'Grady, Ryan McGavigan (James Wesolowski). Subs (not used): Adam Wykes, Ricky Muggleton Booked: McGavigan
Teeno Posted 7 September 2004 Posted 7 September 2004 Even the reserves selections are confusing surely the likes of Wesolowski and Petrescu should be starting. I supose the encouraging side is that he is playing youngster rather than 2nd rate squad players.
Mark Posted 7 September 2004 Author Posted 7 September 2004 Super Stevie Dawson scored Stephen Dawson set City on their way after 23 minutes with a thunderous drive. The Coventry defense managed to clear the intitial free kick but when the ball fell to Dawson 20 yards out, he volleyed it home.
City Fan Posted 7 September 2004 Posted 7 September 2004 Why play players who are having matches regularly for the Academy? Petrescu, O'Grady to name a few, never seem to play....
Mark Posted 7 September 2004 Author Posted 7 September 2004 Why play players who are having matches regularly for the Academy?Petrescu, O'Grady to name a few, never seem to play.... 17613 Cause some of them are better than U-18 football Petrescu must be away with Finland U-19's? He best be
Scow Posted 7 September 2004 Posted 7 September 2004 Looks like Dawson impresses again. But I'm sure Micky will ignore it......
Mark Posted 7 September 2004 Author Posted 7 September 2004 Looks like Dawson impresses again. But I'm sure Micky will ignore it...... 17619 Mickys on a training course, certainly needs it but what a time to go away
Scow Posted 7 September 2004 Posted 7 September 2004 Did Scowy go to the game? 17618 No, I've been at work.
Hullfox Posted 7 September 2004 Posted 7 September 2004 Look what happens when you play the youngsters. They can't even beat the Cov second string. Buy more oldies I say.

Buy more oldies I say. 17627 Youth team vs. Cov reserves which had at least 5 players with first team experience. That wasnt as clever as you think. Mix a few of them young players in with experience and they'd shine.
Hullfox Posted 7 September 2004 Posted 7 September 2004 Touchy touchy Petrescu I would refer you to Mr Scowy's slant on it.

Buzzell Posted 7 September 2004 Posted 7 September 2004 You lot say Petrescu is a great player but he cant even get into the Reserve squad! Whats going on!
Ash Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 Weve got good induvidual players but reserves cant even win a fookin game ! Call up Ashley Chambers i say
Scow Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 I don't really take much notice of the results, aslong as these talented youngsters are playing against experienced opposition, it can only benefit them. Also useful for them to continue building playing relationships with the fellow youngsters.
