I will be. My dad's birthday that day and hes a keen runner, so he's asked me to enter it with him. More than twice my age and he'll probably beat me comfortably lol

Couple weeks before the Robin Hood half, so should be good prep for that.

Just need to actually lace up my running shoes and start to get some miles in again. Been seriously slacking the last 2-3 weeks...

After the Swithland 6 at the start of June (which itself was off the back of a poor week) I did a couple weeks of sporadic, low-ish mileage, then went on holiday and only ran once whilst I was away. Got back a week ago and my running shoes are still sat in the suitcase... Oops.

I was suggested a base-building plan a while ago, which I'm thinking of giving a go. It's supposed to be 9 weeks to get up to ~32mpw over 5/6 runs, with some speedwork integrated in, but it starts at about 20mpw and whilst I've ran that before, not sure if I could jump straight into that now.

I've also thought about joining a running club, but working in Notts and living in Loughborough its difficult to get to any (on time) during the week without a car. I'm more than content running solo the majority of the time, but itd be nice to mix things up if I can.

Yeah it is difficult to fit it all in and I am like you used to running on my own 90 per cent of the time. I have a treadmill at home in the garage for those awkward days so that helps keep me ticking over I suppose

I managed to complete 10k run in 48minutes and 54seconds so very pleased to beat the 50 minute barrier

average 7mins 52seconds per mile which is quicker than I normally run

Great job mate! Looks like you were right by me at the end then - I had 49:14.

My previous PB was 54 and change, although that was on a hot day on a hilly course so a bit soft. Certainly didn't expect to knock 5 minutes off it though!

Been struggling a bit with shin splints lately and warming up was a lil' sore, but when the race started I ended up going out much quicker than I planned to and... no pain. Figured I'd see how long I could keep it up and surprised myself big time :)

Well done lads. I probably should have signed up for this in prep for the half marathon next month but didn't. I did run 10k in training on Saturday though, in 1 hour 4 minutes.

Great effort mate.

I got a PB too of 48.04

Thought I'd broken the 48 but just missed it on the official timing.

Next is the Leicester Half....why???? LOL
