Ian Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 Released from Leeds apparantly! Just goes to show they arn't as good as many people try and make out. Guppy was a very good player but he is now too old and too injury prone. Micky read it right by the sounds of it.

Scow Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 I thought Guppy was doing Ok at Leeds - There was no point in releasing Guppy and then taking on Wilcox. Apparently, Hignett is being linked with Darlington. Oh dear. :w00t:
SilverFox Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 I don't care...sign up Guppy, you could have a brilliant song for him (to the tune of puppy love) And they call it Guppy Loooooove, but I guess they'll never Knoooow! Hes better than the crap we have!!!
Ash Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 I would profer Guppy to Wilcox anyday , But hopefully Steve will find another club
Wellman Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 Guppy was a KING in his day. Shamefully he lost it when he went with Martin O'Neil to Celtic. Well as for Hignett, only remember him for scoring against Arsenal
Buzzell Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 Bad Luck to the lads. Guppy would be great in this division, or he would do a much better job than Wilcox. Higgnet needs to retire!
Guest freund Posted 8 September 2004 Posted 8 September 2004 Apparently, Hignett is being linked with Darlington. Oh dear. :w00t: 17769 yep he's signed for darlington

Guest Daniel Posted 9 September 2004 Posted 9 September 2004 Thats about his standard, i didnt think Guppy was too bad last season and he's definatly better than Wilcock.
Scow Posted 9 September 2004 Posted 9 September 2004 And just to think that we signed Hignett to keep us up in the Premiership last season.....
Buzzell Posted 9 September 2004 Posted 9 September 2004 Guppy is apparently looking for a future in America, says the Daily Sport.
andy_croydz Posted 10 September 2004 Posted 10 September 2004 guppy was a legend back in the day for us, scored some great goals and was a brilliant crosser but last season he didnt look all there and i think the age has caught up on him sadly hignett was once a good player last season he did ok in some games but its the same thing as with guppy, the age has caught up on him too.
Cat Burger Posted 10 September 2004 Posted 10 September 2004 I thought Guppy did O.K in his second spell and I for one, was sorry to see him go!
Scow Posted 10 September 2004 Posted 10 September 2004 Guppy started off well, but then he sustained a back/hip injury which hampered him.
TrickyTrev Posted 11 September 2004 Posted 11 September 2004 Leeds wanted to keep Guppy but felt itmay hinder there chances of signing other players they are interested in.
Sparky Posted 11 September 2004 Posted 11 September 2004 hignett with a late equalizer for darlington !
Guest freund Posted 11 September 2004 Posted 11 September 2004 hignett with a late equalizer for darlington ! 18269 bit like against arsenal he won't score again
