French to test video refereeing

The French League (LFP) is to test video-assisted refereeing in November.

"We are going to do some tests during games played behind closed doors," LFP president Frederic Thiriez told French weekly Le Journal du Dimanche.

"The first game will be played in November. Fifa has already told us twice we are not allowed to test it in an official game.

"But with a good file, with the results of the tests, I hope we will be able to do so soon."

Why does it need testing?!

Its referee's that need testing in the first place!

But surly there isn't much to test in this...Its simple, not much can go wrong really, can it?! The sooner Video replays are bought into the game the better this is one fault that means football falls behind rugby!

Probably to check it doesn't slow the game down too much, that's the only worry I have about it.

Also it's a good way to work out how often it should be used and the like.
