1. Liverpool win the Premier League by a record margin and retain the Champions League. There is an expectation that this will spark a period of dominance, but the likes of Salah, Mane and VVD slowly join Real, Barca and PSG before Klopp takes the reigns of the German national team after they flop again at the Euros.

2. England finally reach a major final, but lose to France at Wembley. Scotland finally qualify for Euro 2024, going out in the last 16.

3. 2026 is planned to be the last World Cup with a host nation, with future World Cups hosted instead by confederations after the format was deemed a success during Euro 2020. However the AFC 2030 tournament is a disaster, beset by poor attendances and travel chaos.

4. A big club gets relegated, possibly Everton or Arsenal, after years of stagnation. Crippling costs mean that they struggle to return. Arsenal Fan TV wins Best Comedy at the NTA after a 2-0 home defeat to Forest Green Rovers. 

5. After a glut of bankruptcies, Leagues One and Two are regionalised into North and South divisions to reduce travelling costs and increase the number of local derbies. Bankrupt clubs are replaced by PL and Championship B teams.

6. Israel qualify for Qatar 2022, causing a diplomatic headache for travelling fans and media. This further brings into question host selection processes. 

7. Safe standing is introduced at all levels. 

8. The first gay Premier League player comes out. After a supportive reaction within the game, this prompts a number of similar announcements.

9. VAR is scrapped. 

10. 3G pitches are permitted at all levels.
