Leicester U16s

So as part of my Level 2 Block 2 Coaching course I was at Leicester's training ground last night. I was fortunate enough to be able to watch 2 FA national coaches and the Leicester coaches take the Leicester U16s through one of their training sessions. Was a great insight into how they train when in possession and when out of possession. 

 

All of the players were really accurate with their passing and being coached to play out from the back and build the attack. A few of the players were really impressive. I wonder how many of them will get into the first team. 1 maybe 2.

 

Walked past Sean St Ledger as well. Now there's a blast from the past  

 

Was really impressive to see behind the scenes. Makes me want to see the new training facilities when they are finally ready.

The future looks bright

Ledg bought the young kid in for the 23s courragh or something that. 

 

Kids are thought to play from the back from the age of 7 or 8 when they first join the academy. Sometimes players Sunday sides beat the academy aides because the academy sides are set in their ways with playing from the back. Great to see but sometimes you do have to go long.
