Stoke came from behind to beat Coventry 2-1 at the Ricoh Arena.

The Potters had lost their last three away games, and seemed set for further disappointment when they fell behind early on, but they battled back to claim three points.

Coventry were rewarded for their bright start when they took the lead after 14 minutes. Dele Adebola nodded down Richard Duffy's cross, and Lilian Nalis capitalised on Stoke's hesitation to fire home.

The home side twice nearly doubled their lead, but Adebola was denied by Steve Simonsen's fine save and James Scowcroft saw his header rebound back off the post.

The visitors levelled against the run of play, Gerry Taggart smashing the ball through a crowded penalty area after Coventry failed to clear their lines (40).

Paul Gallacher put Stoke ahead ten minutes into the second half with a fantastic goal.

The on-loan Blackburn striker received a pass from Sam Bangoura and curled a sumptuous shot into the top corner from 20 yards, leaving Marton Fulop motionless.

Adebola almost salvaged a point for Coventry late on with a header that was brilliantly saved by Simonsen, but Stoke held on for a vital win.

Unlucky Cov. :)
