A great read, and what a great player Ian King was; one of my favourite all time players. With him and Len Chalmers in defence, we had two real hard men.

 

It's just so sad to have lost so many of my heroes. God bless them all.

Ken Keyworth was a fine player.

In the same class at school as Alex Young, an Everton legend. I wonder who else went to that school? Their team must have been something special.

What a great player and servant of the Club. I well remember seeing him play with his no nonsense tackles and heading ability. He knew how to get stuck in.

Fascinating to read details of a change in formation after the semi-final vs Liverpool that led to, or coincided with, a series of poor results at the end of the season.

Also loved the stories about Dougan, who was one of my favourites.
