Cobbo Posted 22 November 2005 Posted 22 November 2005 Right, as many of you will know through my high attention seekingness, I have a broken ankle and I'm on crutches. So today I moved my seat to a disabled area for obvious reasons. We turned up at the ground, got our new tickets etc. then went to get in. There was a fan in a wheelchair infront of us whom was allowed through these big gates next to the turnstiles so we assumed that I'd be allowed through there too as the turnstile itself would be a right pain in the arse. So Stez, Katy and myself went to follow them in. But the steward there had to talk to his colleague to check if I could go in that way which seemed odd as it seemed to be where disabled persons may enter the stadium. His colleage then deemed it wrong for me to enter via this route so I had to go in via the awkward turnstile where Katy had to pull it open for me for fear of me going arse over tit. Why wasn't I allowed through these big gates? The stewarding at our stadium leaves a lot to be desired. I'll be writing a letter to the club to see their opinions on the matter. What if I had been attending on my own? No way I could get through the turnstile without hurting myself. It's quite knackering on crutches to be fair and the less hassle the better. As the guy in the turnstile itself said to us 'They're all little Hitlers' Is Cobbo in a mard?
Milky Posted 22 November 2005 Posted 22 November 2005 As the guy in the turnstile itself said to us 'They're all little Hitlers' , great stuff from the guy at the turnstile. give a retarded chimp some authority and your bound to be in trouble. what did you expect exactly?
Anish Posted 22 November 2005 Posted 22 November 2005 Nope you're completely justified. Common sense should prevail in that situation. How stupid are some of the stewards? They think they run the place with the way they act, most of them are a bunch of nobodies on a power trip.

I have to agree - stewards are deffo tossers - athough ive never been in a situation with them myself, i witnessed one this evening and to be honest ,i thought it was shockin behaviour from the stewards. I sit in F1 with my missus and kids and just after Watford equalised,i said fook this im goin for a leak and ill see you outside.I was halfway down to the concourse and there on the stairway were 2 stewards, they had this guy cornered and were ranting about smoking rules. The guy had a unlit rollup in his hand and was basically saying to them "WTF".. they were giving him a hard time over it standing there with shoulders out chests bulging lookin like like some kind of "bouncers". I went to the loo , came out onto the concourse and these 2 muppets were still givin the guy grief, and to be fair , the guy was stood there and took it all in without a hint of retaliation. I made my way to the main exit door and stood there waiting for my family to come down - silly of me i know but i started to roll a smoke myself and was approached by a steward and told not to.. (i was still inside the concourse) bleghh. All this time these 2 "stewards" were still rippin into this guy .. they were out of order going at him like they were doing. I did shout up to the guy "chin the fat bastard" cos i think he would have deserved it. If you were those 2 stewards who usually stand by the exit tunnel on the corner at F1 - one of you is the "supervisor" , a little bald headed guy with a face like a slapped arse, yellow coat is a couple of sizes too big , and his sidekick - fat fooker wears tinted glasses and the old yellow coat is a little small for his fat frame , then you should be sacked. If your the guy with all the greif from these 2 clowns , than if i were you i'd complain to the highest level - i was treated better in jail. arent these people there to supervise and ensure the safety of the crowd , not treat em like shit. Sorry cobbo - i dont wanna hijack your thread - but stewards ...... ffs
Katy Posted 23 November 2005 Posted 23 November 2005 And other thing - Stezza went over to have a go at the steward (after we had eventually got in ) and they couldnt understand that they milliseconds before had let a wheelchair and its occupant and helper in. All they kept saying is "we cant open these gates we will get the sack! Err hello! I was Iain Huming ill tell ya!

Then after Stez had very kindly had it out with them (cheers buddy) we went to find our seats. We went and asked two other stewards which way to go to get to our seats and they pointed us in the direction of the stairs After eventually explaining that they'd be a right bugger on crutches one of them told us that there was a way we could go without using the stairs if we really wanted - yes please! Considering I had wheel chair pass written on my ticket, I would have thought they might have cottoned on
