I discovered this in my treasures box recently. Im 64 so would have been five, I definitely didn’t attend. If my memory serves it was a playground swap of some sort, though an odd one as Ive never had any interest in football. It makes interesting reading though as a real time piece and even Ive heard of several of the famous names on the team sheet.

When I was a boy suffering from one of those childhood illnesses the GP came to visit. On the bedside table was a football annual. He saw this and told me he used to be the medical officer for Fulham. He popped back the following evening and dropped off an enormous bag of old programmes. This was mid 60s and the programmes dated to mid 50s. Mainly London clubs but others as well including Leicester. Always remember this kindly act towards a young child. Dr Martin his name was .

We have so many of these programs and even some autograph books from around that time. There's a big box of them that we got on a property renovation we did a few years back. It would be good to get them in a collection somewhere.
