If we sell Youri and Madders, yes, but if not...the lowest I see us is around the 12 to 14 mark.

There's no doubt that we've got some work to do, but what an opportunity. Our most important task is to decide what we're looking for and start scouring leagues we can sign players from. We're in a position where 99% of footballers would want to play for us. We've just got to go out and find the value, something we've been capable of for nearly a decade now.

 

Admittedly, if we perform as badly in the next 2 windows as we have done generally under Rodgers tenure, then we're in for a fair few years of muck. There's plenty of opportunity there though.

 

We need to stop getting so obsessed with players though. Just because a player has done well for us doesn't mean they can't be replaced, especially given we're a top half team in the richest league in the world.

We have although recently we've made some absolute howlers. Hopefully the old trend continues where we make more good signings than bad. I'm certain that we can replace most players in our team to be honest, the issue is the timing of when we lose them. An easy example would be if we lost Fofana in the coming weeks, we are then really short on capable defenders who could come close to his level. Evans is obviously a classy defender, but his injuries are getting more frequent these days, and Soyuncu was god awful last season.
