davieG Posted 29 November 2005 Share Posted 29 November 2005 From the 606 site. There was a Wigan fan completely on his own in the front row, no other fans near him, and when Spurs fans chanted "Who are ya?" at the Wigan fans, he was the only one who responded. So Spurs fans dubbed him "Billy no mates" and sang at him for most of the first half. When another Wigan fan went to sit with him, Spurs fans sang, "Billy's got a boyfriend, Billy's got a boyfriend, lalalala, lalalala..." among other songs. This bloke apparently took the whole thing in good humour and, at half time, a Spurs fan asked a steward to: "Go down to that fan over there, give him this tenner, tell him to buy himself a beer and give me back the change" The Steward did, and a few minutes later returned with £7.50 change and Billy's compliments. Libertine Posted 29 November 2005 Share Posted 29 November 2005 That's brilliant. I like it where fans from opposing teams can get on with eachother and just treat it as a laugh.

Libertine Posted 29 November 2005 Share Posted 29 November 2005 I don't get it There's nothing to 'get'. It's just good to hear about good relations between fans etc.
Bert Posted 29 November 2005 Share Posted 29 November 2005 That is excellent to hear. Does anyone remember when we played Sheff Wednesday and beat them 3-0? at half time two lads from the kop went over to the pie man (the geezer who always wears no top at games whatever the weather) in the Wednesday end and brought him a pie and had a chat with him!!
