Player X Player X (that is what we will call him from now on) hasn't yet been able to make his European debut, but is already on the verge of being immersed in a scandal of huge proportions which threatens to end his career and taint the name of the European club in the process. According to sources close to his former club, the defender is being investigated by the police (in his home land) for the possession and consumption of intolerable quantities of cocaine. (We have been told that you are not required or requested for 'random drug testing' while injured) It appears that the police have corroborating evidence on both Player X and his current partner, Z list celeb. Z list celeb has built herself quite a reputation on the Z-list celebrity circuit as a huge user of cocaine since she shot to fame on the back of her appearance on a reality TV show. It is also reported that one of the Sunday newspapers in his home land have obtained pictures of both Player X & Z list celeb face down in a pile of cocaine, and are fighting a gagging order in court to prevent them from publishing the pictures this weekend. This revelation could, if true, put serious pressure, not only on the player himself, but also on his president, of the European club. If all these allegations finally come to light, they would explain the unexpected, shock transfer which took football by surprise, given that former club got rid of a key player just before the start of the season, without having lined up a replacement. Player X transfer was a complete surprise, taking place seemingly overnight, whilst all eyes were on the two other players with which the European outfit were negotiating. The former club chairman, presumably aware of the situation and that Player X's detention was a question of time, came to the conclusion that he should simply get rid of the problem, whilst at the same time taking advantage of European presidents desperation to satisfy the wishes of his coach, bring in some money, and sell the player on.
