What next for the season

Whoever comes in, I just hope he sets us up to have a go at teams, rather than play with everybody defending except Vardy. I know our defence is crap and needs a bollocking, but if Ndidi was told to just protect the back four and not go roaming up front, it might at least give us a bit of stability. If we had a go at some of these teams, I'm sure Buonanotte, Bilal, Mav, etc can hurt them, but the way we set up they're doing their stuff on the halfway line rather than in the box. So all I ask for is a bit of belief from the new guy, and let's see what we can do.

When you lack ability, you've got to make some of it up with hard work, grit, passion etc (see Ipswich)...We lack ability and passion. Couldn't name a player besides Vardy who looks like they care about the club or it's future.

 

There's not 3 teams worse than us, in fact, i can only really name Southampton who are on par if not marginally worse.

Sorry, whilst I see your point, and I agree with the sentence, I don't think if we really drill down to the core of the matter that it 100% applies to our situation.

We have ability within our squad, and I think more than you actually credit the team with, but Cooper, due to his limitations wasn't getting the best out of our players.

The poor on field performances and current league position are testiment to that.

 

A better calibre of manager, actually with a tactical brain, an idea, and an obvious team identity would get a better tune and results out of our starting 11 than Cooper ever could.

I just don’t think the first team squad is good enough , or as good as some people on here think:

 

Hermanson, Winks, FB, Ayew and Vardy are all of premier league quality, ( Potentially Vestergaard if played to his strengths but lack of pace is a massive hindrance)
 

We then have players who could be but injury’s have ruined them: Justin, Ricardo, Ndidi

 

Unproven players but have potential: Okoli, Bilal

 

Inconsistent players: Mavididi, Skipp, Faes, Soumare, Fatawu. 

 

Then the rest are just squad players.

 

Whoever the new manager is he will need about 5 signings in January to give us a chance to stay up.

It really surprises me how much Cooper persisted with the same system. I thought a back five was a quite obvious move for us and one that he went to at Forest quite a lot.

 

Our recruitment at centre half is embarrassing. We spend a good £10mil+ on a centre back every season and seem to hardly have a single good one. It's shocking.
