Goal Threat Will Lift Us In The Table

The defence is still under the microscope, but Leicester City boss Craig Levein remains convinced his side can attack their way up the table.

After letting a good chance of victory slip through their grasp in the 1-1 draw against Crewe last Saturday, they now look ahead to facing rock-bottom Millwall on Boxing Day, and again the expectation is for a long-awaited win.

The team's standing at the midway point of the season has been a big disappointment but all is not lost, according to the City boss.

He said: "The mood among the players is very positive despite the disappointments of recent results.

"They have a belief that we are going in the right direction.

"We have defended badly in some games lately and that is something we hope to sort out. On the other hand, our attack has looked very good.

"We believe we can still provide a real goal threat and our attacking play has been very good. Hopefully, that will continue.

"The confidence among the strikers is high, and I am sure the results will come soon."

Momo Sylla and Gareth Williams, through a family bereavement, missed training yesterday.

Paddy McCarthy is set to return after suspension.

Millwall will be playing under a different management structure after David Tuttle replaced ex-City man Colin Lee as manager.

Lee has moved upstairs at the New Den to become the club's director of football while his former assistant Tuttle, who has never managed a professional club, becomes the Championship's youngest boss at 33.

The surprise move follows a meeting between new chairman Peter de Savary, chief executive Ken Brown, director Constantine Gonticas, Tuttle and Lee.

Lee said: "It was a surprise to made director of football - and something I didn't expect this early in my career, but the position excites me and I have a stack of work to do.

"There is a clear understanding that David will keep the job for the rest of the season - and if he keeps Millwall in the Championship, I'm sure he would keep the job.

"David is a young man, and the chairman wanted to give him a chance. I'm a perfectionist who finds it difficult to relax at certain times, whereas David is more laid-back. The players support the decision fully."

I reckon Craig is looking at the table upside down if he thinks we are moving in the right direction. Yet more utter b0ll0cks from Mr Levein. He just says what people want to hear and I for one am not fooled by his lies.
