In terms of the full picture. In terms of the collateral damage that comes with it. In terms of output on the pitch compared to the wages paid off it.

Sheffield Wednesday are likely to finish the season on negative points.

But this is not the point. They were doomed from the off. What they have produced on the pitch this season has not hurt them as a club because the damage was done way before a ball was even kicked.

Has a club had a more catastrophic, damaging and ruinous season than this one? If so, who, and when?

Leicester City 2022/23.

I'd rate that 2nd.

Tottenham 2025/26 might pip that to 2nd though.

Us in 23/23?

Leeds in 03/04?
Sunderland in 05/06?

I’d say we are on a similar trajectory to those two.

West Ham 02/03?
Whatever went on with Schalke after Covid.

I’d class Tottenhams collapse when it happens as the biggest ever. I do think us being in for 22/23 and this season would maybe make a too 5 though.
