davieG Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 Two threads here, One to say why you think MA’s should stay, what makes him a good manager, what has he brought to the club. One to say why you think MA’s should go, why he isn’t a good manager, why has his time come to go. Please be constructive and give examples, we can then compare in an objective way rather than going on gut feel and recent performances. NOTE: Any posts within these threads with swearing and personal insults will be deleted. LET’S HAVE FACTS, OPINION with EVIDENCE TO PROVE YOUR POINT. The Micky Adams Threads - Why He Should STAY
King Kyle lcfc Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 Because i dont believe there is another manager well placed to come in and Take over as the team are already in enough trouble and sacking micky will disrupt things even more. No matter what anyone says he's a good young manager at this level I still believe he will come good with the fans behind him Even tho they are not playing to their potential most of his signings have been good players who at first suprised us by coming here He's got the very best out of alot of previously poor Players. Clunes Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 He has given us loyality and showed comitment to a club when others would have walked. hes young and got us promoted against all the odds. Hes a figher and thats what we need. Hes worked very hard for the club and will continue too. And if we sacked him could we really get a better manager???
Ash Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 Hes done it before with us , and he had no money ! Same postion as he was in his first season , We just havent got off to the best of starts , Time all he needs is time !
spirefox Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 1.Track Record. Proven ability to achieve promotion,As we can all see this seasons attempt has got off to a shaky start, but had our little irish friend had not been sent off yesterday 10 points out of 12 would not have had the fair weathers in such a tizzy. He won promotion 2 years ago with the same tactics and obviously is working along the same lines 2.Commitment.With what he's been through nobody could blamed him for walking away, but he hasn't.For a club that has been dumped time and time again,I'm amazed that this doesn't count for more.He was absolutely gutted yesterday,Isn't that what we want? 3.Potential.For us to have been made the Bookies favourites for promotion means that our squad is one of the strongest in the League,We all know they have failed to produce but they are more likely to come good under MA than anybody else. 4.Alternatives.I have yet to see a single realistic alternative who we could get who would offer any better chance than MA

Guest Daniel Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 He has given us loyality and showed comitment to a club when others would have walked. hes young and got us promoted against all the odds. And if we sacked him could we really get a better manager??? 22088[/snapback] Some people say things with nothing to back them up. Against all odds? What a ridiculous thing to say, we were 3rd favourites to go up that season despite administration and had about the strongest side in the division. People saying he's a good manager, so why this record?
spirefox Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 Sorry Blue Mistress, but your familiar cyber bully tactics won't work here, reasoned arguements only please.Getting promotion with a previously demoralised and often unpaid squad was above and beyond any reasonble expectation.
Guest Daniel Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 May i ask what the helll your on about?

They accepted a 25% deferral - Only two player's were not paid in the squad for an initial period, that was Summerbee and McKinlay......
Guest Daniel Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 Ecatly what i mean, need false stats to make him look good. Terrible.
spirefox Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 Whether unpaid literally or threatened with being unpaid, the point is that MA managed through the crisis.Have you forgotten so soon or didn't you realise what was going on?
davieG Posted 26 September 2004 Author Posted 26 September 2004 Are people on this stupid, blind or just plain awkward. These threads were put on to allow people to give valid, well reasoned views on why MA's should stay or go. Not to debate the issue, there are plenty of other threads for that. You’re like Dublin, Stewart and Connolly absolutely no self-discipline. Grow up please
TrickyTrev Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 I have a lot of respect for him for not walking out over the La Manga issue and for the way he handled himself in the media at that time. He has had very little money to spend over the last two seasons and surpassed expectations.
Craig Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 Adams should stay because he's not a coward and i can't for one moment believe he would walk out on this club just because we've had a bad start to the season. He's got what it takes to get us into the playoffs, and that'l be proved by a superb performance vs Gillingham on tuesday night.
shrood Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 Never really checked these boards and to be honest I'm suprised with the amount of fans wanting adams out, most other leicetser fans I've heard speak about the matter (with exception of those fakes that ring up the phone-in) agree that very few managers indeed would have been able to produce instant results after having to sell probably close to £15 million worth of players and then replace them with a completely new team of freebies, especially in this division.... Some Leicester fans seem to have very short memories, we are not a massive club, we have no RIGHT to be in the prem or at the top of division one, we just happened to have one magnificent manager who brought a lot of glory to the club. The chances of finding another MO however much we want it are so slim that even if we change the manager we are unlikely to end up with someone of much more quality than MA. I agree the current results are not good enough, as with the current quality of this division I feel we should at be at least swiftly climbing into the top half yet MA should at least be given another few weeks to see if this is the direction in which we are progressing. However, the one big problem I do have with his current management his obssession with past-it players. To keep bringing in so called experienced veterans is not a quick fix to get us back to the prem, it's a sure fire plan to make sure the time it takes us to get back their is continually delayed. We should put faith is some younger blood even if it does mean we have to spend a season wallowing around mid-table division one while we watch it develop and come good, it will. that is all.
