Maybe some understand that context and environment are vitally important in the first period of time when a new manager comes in. Its really expecting miracles to bring someone new in when things are a shit show but then not change any structural and personnel in the areas that support the manager. A good manager will probably fail when that supporting environment is not in place.

 

Maybe, RM has learnt some hard truths about his style and methods.

 

Maybe, he has a point to prove.

 

Maybe, we are not a very attractive propostion for many managers right now.

 

Of course, its entirely possioble he has learnt nothing and nothing around the manager has changed, but lets at least give him a chance and get behind him, because this probably isnt a quick fix.
