toonboy Posted 3 January 2006 Posted 3 January 2006 Yesterday afternoon I, and a few hundred other people, were told to evacuate all the buildings and the area at the very centre of Loughborough by police. It was all taped off from McDonalds to just past the cinema. I looked on teletext and on the news but couldn't see anything about it. I heard people talking about a gas leak and others about a bomb scare and apparently a bomb disposal truck went in that direction (don't know why someone would want to bomb Loughborough). Just wondering if anyone was there or knows anything about it. Cheers

Yeh i'd just sat down and started munching my popcorn and got told to leave and then police told us to get away from the area quickly
City_4_Life Posted 3 January 2006 Posted 3 January 2006 I heard about in college today that it was a bomb scare and the centre was shut for 4 hours. I also got told the police said it werent a bomb but they had to defuse something. I dont know if this is true but it was told to me by a teacher.

I'm up at Middlesex Uni in London and my town, Wood Green, got totally evacuated a few months ago. I got warded down the road away from the "blast area" (the tube station) and there was chaos everywhere. Nothing happened, just a suspect package. Post 7/7 there'll be loads of it nowadays, mate. Just get used to it.

Finnegan Posted 4 January 2006 Posted 4 January 2006 Loughborough, the heathenous centre of foul degenerates and infidels. Sounds about right, actually. Though you would have thought that, on those lines, Coalville would be a more obvious target.
