Ric Flair Posted 1 March 2006 Author Posted 1 March 2006 How come then Ward got a callup for Australia and our Weso who was playing well then for us did not get a callup as was before his injury? He would be the far better choice. Good for us then, might possibly see him in an England shirt from now on with Stears. Wesolowski only actually played for us over a period of a month, so there wasn't chance for him to be called up anyway. There is no doubt in my mind that once he's established himself next season for a month or two then the skippies will come knocking. Captian, penalty taker, corners, free kicks, the works!
La Bamba Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 Personally I can't see what's the fuss about Leijer, he's slow, and although he's fairly decent at heading and tackling, he doesn't deserve the hype he's received He's alot better than Timpano, that's for sure.

I'ld love to have him at leicester but, and give him a season or 2 in and out of the first team and hes's only 18 so he could be a very good investment. He's come a long long way in over 3 years 3 years ago he was playing for Geelong rep u18's 2 years ago he was playing for melbourne knights on and off last season playing for Melbourne Victory and on stand by for the socceroo's against Bahrain thats some way in 3 seasons, it's obvious he's got some raw talent.
Shrew Posted 2 March 2006 Posted 2 March 2006 I'm not sure if Weso has been in Britain long enough to gain Citezinship or not and in reply to Sparky it's something like 75% of international games you must've played during your contract period or something like that. yeh pretty sure its 75% of internationals over something like the last 3yrs or if you're deemed 2 b an outstanding talent
La Bamba Posted 4 March 2006 Posted 4 March 2006 Of Australia's potential Beijing Olympians I'd probably rate the top 5 like this: 1. Kristian Sarkies 2. David Williams 3. Kaz Patafta 4. James Wesolowski 5. Nick Ward
steve_wilson101 Posted 4 March 2006 Posted 4 March 2006 Weso at the Olympics would be cool! He'll still just be young enough to play in 2012 as well I think.
Vo Rogue Posted 4 March 2006 Posted 4 March 2006 Weso at the Olympics would be cool! He'll still just be young enough to play in 2012 as well I think. Dont think so. I believe Olympics clash with football season here so will be playing in Premiership with Leicester and enjoying it. I think he gets Brit citizenship later in year so long term will be very interesting what he chooses, especially after not getting much of a run at U20s World Cup behind a very ordinary lot of players. Could well choose to play through the grades with his mate Stearman.Have to wait and see.
