Atmosphere at the walkers

I dont think they should move the kop they should move the away fans to the oppisite end and cordon the supporters off by metal gates. Also in the Kop have no consessions so everyone pays the same price and that would dis courage kids to sit in the kop. I think we've got enough songs just ppl cant be bothered to sing.

"Sing, sing or show us your ring"

ok dont print out 30k, print out 20k song sheets? or we just going to accept "the home support is shit"

It's not us that you need to convince, it's the 17000+ who can't be arsed. Printing a song sheet out won't change them.

yer i see your point there and there has to be something we can do as a group of fans. Where i sit (SE Corner) there is a small group of us who sing (i mean small). Sometimes there is only 3 of us singing in our section which is disgraceful as i had more support when singing in the North East corner. printing out song sheets gives people no excuse to not sing, apart from being boring twats. There is no reason for them to come down to the game because lets face it there isnt "good football" there, there is "no atmosphere" so im guessing that if loads of fans sing then the minority will join the majority. Lets make an endless wall of noise on saturday, just sing your hearts out for the lads whether people around you are doing the same or not. Then we shall see the singers from the boring wankers!;)

Try to pick up the many points raised on this thread here:

1) There is no way the away fans will move - their location is the easiest access point in the entire ground & the Safety Advisory Group would not allow them to be moved.

2) We discussed with the club over a year ago the idea of swapping the North & South Stand around, however it was felt that far too many season ticket holders would be upset by attempting it. No doubt the SAG would also have concerns.

3) Burnley have introduced a signing area & we are monitoring its success. Our club is aware of this

4) With Trust board members sitting is various parts of the ground we are able to assess the relative noise levels. We feel the best place to judge them is actually the West Stand and the Kop is far louder than L1 with many more beng involved in the chanting.

5) The attempts by the Kop to lift the players has been encouraging over the last month, as this wasn't happening earlier in the season. With better spells of play in the last 2 games, the noise level has noticably increased.

6) Printed song leaflets - the Mercury won't print leaflets for you, we tried to get them to do it & the compromise was the page in the Sporting Blue. They also wouldn't give us free copies to give away of either the entire paper or just the song page.

7) A political campaign would be needed for standing areas, its not something the club is allowed to do. In fact the club is interested in doing it, but its out of their hands.

Of course the kop's going to be louder then L1! There is a clear difference in the number of people in these two parts you're comparing. I can't really see the point in that statement. Oh and another thing, there are fans in other stands you know, not just the Kop. People seem to think that there's only one stand at Filbert Way. The players only acknowledge the Kop before and after the games, Birch only congratulates the Kop on their performance in the first half and not all the fans... I'm sick of the players not applauding all four sides and only the Kop. I pay as much as people in the Kop and I'm sure I sing as loud as them individually so why should they be treated as the only fans in the ground?

Well you shouldnt chose to sit with the prawn sandwich eaters.

We are the ones who drive the team on, if anyone.

We deserve the applause.

I don't. I sit in the North stand next to the away fans. I don't sit in the Kop because I'm still old enough to get into the family stand and as someone said earlier they don't want 'kids' in the Kop.

I think when the Kop sing it will sound loud as there are more of them, but in a whole game they'll probably only sing 3 songs.

Stand up if you love Leicester

Who are we blue Army

leicester leicester leicester

The Kop don't sing often enough.

In L1 We sing throughout the game, vary songs, and its much more fun to be sitting there. Sitting in L1 is similar to going to an away game as there is a small bunch of loyal vocal fans who sing throughout, and also stand for large periods.

Blue Mistress, do you have to be so blatantly antagonistic about everything?

I don't like sitting in the Kop or L1 type areas as I think that is where the most thickle fans sit. I have a season ticket in the West stand, I rarely sing but I turn up every week and I care very much and a hate prawn sandwiches alkmost as much as I do people who seem to pick Roy Keane as a philosopher. <_<

I get frustrated at the Kop when they boo players who don't deserve booing, try to start mexican waves during a #### football match. Really what the #### is that?

I also think that people exaggerate the atmosphere at Filbert street. From what i remeber it was only a very small corner of fans that ever mader any noise except in the really tense games. The Walkers Staidum certainly makes more noise in the matches where every one is bhind the team than Filbert street did. Man City last yar was an amazing at mosphere.

PS L1 makes absaloutely no nosie at all that can be heard from the rest of the staidum, only the kp manages that.

Re read. I said that in L1 there are a bunch of loyal vocal fans. I didn't say that there are no loyal vocal fans in other areas. You just jump to conclusions.

I agree with what you say here Teeno. From the North stand all you can see is the Kop clapping rapidly but hardly any singing. They also sing things at the away fans that L1 have sung 10 minutes earlier. If people want to have singing matches with away fans why don't they move a bit nearer instead of singing it from 100 yards away?

Ive sat in L1 once it was good but i prefer the KOP!

Id out simg you any day Teeno!

Then you must be pretty boring, Kop is crap, they only had one song last season (I sat in the kop E1) the atmosphere at times was good but very rarely, L1 has more variety in songs and chants, plus I love the banter and being near the awayers when we score.

Shut up , Why cant people on this forum accept other people's opinions?I just think Kop is better but most of you dont!Plus in L1 when everybody stands up id have to stand on me seat because i would not be able to see the match! ;)

Firstly, arguing about which section is loudest is not going to help.

Secondly, the stadium was designed to project noise onto the pitch, which is why L1 and the Kop have difficulty hearing each other, and especially why the North Stand won't hear us.

Thirdly, song sheets are a good idea, but the Mercury won't endorse the majority becuase of the expletives used. Also, I suspect the SAG would be against it, because of the paper aiplane invasion (although the Club itself can do what it wants, you'll note).

Fourthly, reduced ticket prices for kids in the North Stand hasn't helped to keep them and their moaning parents out of other areas of the ground. Whilst banning kids entirely from the Kop or L1 might seem like a good idea, there are parents who do want to sing, and will encourage their kids to sing too. The minority will be annoyed I suspect.

I personally think that the only way to get the ground going is to keep going yourselves. If we sing constantly, instead of a song every now and then, people are more likely to join in. I don't favour a singing corner, because this just makes the rest of the ground pants. Let's try and get the whole Walkers making noise!! It won't be easy, but it can be done, I'm sure.

I had my season ticket in the Kop last season, and for 99.9% of the season was woefull. My season ticket is now in L1 which is a million times better, i dont give a monkeys if the kop cant here us, the away fans can and the banter between both set of fans has been class.

UP THE L1

The atmosphere was good in the kop on saturday but it was really annoying how alot of people were trying to start alternative songs and the blue army chant kept on re-surfacing BORING! Fair play to people who sit in the east stan because they joined in as much as anybody on saturday we've just go to keep singing different songs all the way through the game if were winning losing or drawing. We should start singing individual players songs before the game aswell because we no longer do that. If the performances pick up so will the atmosphere.
