Anish Posted 4 March 2006 Posted 4 March 2006 Ok, so let's make this the official ratings thread: Henderson 7 - couldn't do anything about the goals, made a great point blank save. Kicking was better than expected given other people's criticisms in recent weeks. Stearman 7 Kisnorbo 7 Gerrbrand 6 - I'm beginning to question his ability. It seems whenever he's in the team we concede soft goals. It can't be a sheer coincidence - the defending for Hull's first goal was terrible. Also, he got outmuscled a lot today and won virtually nothing in the air. Johansson 7 - did much better in the second half - he's more comfortable at LB now. Maybury 5 - poor - wrong decisions at the wrong times, out of position too often, afraid to cross. Williams 4 - get rid, he doesn't put the effort in. Didn't make any challenges or look interested. Gudjonsson 9 - MOTM - simply superb today, everything went through him and he was the heart of everything good we did. Excellent performance. Hughes 6.5 - didn't do a lot - put more effort in than Williams but wasn't very effective. Caught out of position a few times. Fryatt 8.5 - excellent performance. This was the first time I have seen him play and I was very impressed. Quick feet, good control, always putting defenders under pressure, and great link up play with Hume. A very good dribbler too! Hume 8.5 - him and Fryatt make a superb partnership. Clinical finish again.
shez Posted 4 March 2006 Posted 4 March 2006 Henderson 7 still scares me when crosses come in! Stearman 6 looked of his game today Kisnorbo 7 won his headers, but some very poor long balls Gerrbrand 6 needs a run in the team, but will get replaced my mccarthy next week! Nills 8 great skill liked the nutmeg and good assist for the winner Maybary 6 pretty average JOEY 9 MOM- we all know what we gonna miss next yr! Williams 6.5 Needed him to get hold of the ball, but when he did it just never worked Huges 6 Not a left sided player, no pace either Fryatt 8 ran and ran and ran Hume 8.5 if it wasnt for this guy we would be playing forest next yr!
simtacular Posted 4 March 2006 Posted 4 March 2006 Henderson 8 - Gaining in confidence as he plays more and more games. Great point blank save. Stearman 7 - Not his best today but put in a steady performance Kisnorbo 8 - Great again in defence although had problems with their big striker Gerrbrand 6 - Was outmuscled quite a lot Johansson 8 - Better in the second half especially when going forward Maybury 6 - Didn't do enough for a right sided midfielder. Was reluctant to put crosses into the box Williams 6 - Started well enough but just didn't committ to the tackles Gudjohnsson 9 - Was amazing and scored 2 great goals Hughes 7 - Good defensive work and didn't have much chance to get forward Fryatt 9 - Did well in holding the ball up and made some good runs. Good closing down Hume 9 - Took his goal well. Similar to fryatt's performance
Durnerz Posted 4 March 2006 Posted 4 March 2006 Henderson 7 - Kicking was a lot better Stearman 7 Gerrbrand 5 - Always the wrong side of the attacker, didn't win enough headers, allowed it to bounce often and got outmuscled. Kisnorbo 7 Johansson 8 - Looked decent, won a lot in the air and came forward more than usual. Maybury 5- What a pussy this guy is, Captains should lead by example and he backed out of every challenge and came narrow for the magority of the game. Williams 4 - Hardly noticed him on the pitch, never wanted the ball. Occasionally put some decent passes through but is back into his lazy streak. Gudjonsson 9 - Always wanted the ball and spurred the team on, not to mention two goals of the highest quality. Will be missed. Hughes 4 - Did nothing of significance, always narrow like Maybury and backed out of challenges. Hume 7 - Work Rate was decent and finished well. Fryatt 7 - Wrong decision when he should have squared the ball to one of two attackers in the box but opted to shoot by the byline but looked exciting at times.
Stuliasz Posted 4 March 2006 Posted 4 March 2006 Henderson 7 - Didn't have much to do but did make one wonder save at 2-1 Stearman 5.5 - Thought he was out of sorts today but it was well known that he was playing through an injury Johansson 7.5 - Superb second half, don't know what he drank at half time but he thought he was Roberto Carlos second half! Kisnorbo 7.5 - Didn't do much wrong again Gerrbrand 7.5 - Likewise Maybury 6 - After a few improvements, didn't have his best game at right wing Hughes 6 - Just seems wasted on the left wing Gudjonsson 8 - Not his best game especially first half, but deserves a high mark for his superbly taken goals Williams 5 - Lacked commitment, pace and desire. He's just not up for a relegation scrap. Hume 7 - Quiet by his recent standards but took his goal well Fryatt 6.5 - Again fairly quiet Welsh 7 - Did well when he came on but should have had a debut goal with the goal at his mercy at the very end Brevett N/A - Not on long enough but did the things he needed to well enough
Micky Singh Posted 5 March 2006 Posted 5 March 2006 I see that many of u have given kisborno a rating above seven. tell u the truth i thought he played just as gerrbrand did - poor. without paddy he looked fragile. Leicester really only played well in spells today, but aleast the good thing is when we did have a good spell we scored from it. defending we are extremly poor today. Apart from joey, hume, fryatt everyone else had large spells which were below average. great goal from joey.

Apart from joey, hume, fryatt everyone else had large spells which were below average. great goal from joey. Couldn't agree more with this. I think we are all blinded by 1 excellent goal and 1 piece of football magic which happens only very rarely at any professional level of football. defensively we were a shambles for most of the game. They had big players all over the pitch and we really didn't cope very well with them. Kisnorbo was badly turned for their 2nd goal for eg. the midfield (except joey) was at best anonymous. i like Hughes but today he was awful and deserved to be replaced even if he wasn't carrying a slight injury. fryatt worked hard but as we had no wide player was often chasing poor balls kicked over his head out to wide positions when his position is surely in the box. The 1st half was one of the worst games I have seen for a long time. They were unimaginative on the whole and we were little better. How two very average teams managed to score 5 quality goals is the real surprise! we will have to play a lot better against better teams to get the points we need to stay up. the real positive is obviously that we won a game we would have lost a few weeks ago but apart from Joey's two goals how many 2nd half chances did we create? i don't know the answer but I don't remeber many.

Kisnorbo did his Job today, no nonsense, didnt do what Gerrbrand did time after time and let the ball drop, he got it out straight away. There was no organisation really at the back and we missed Mccarthy I felt, Mayburys a shocking excuse for a captain and the vice-captain situation should be reviewed.
Jamesino_LCFC Posted 5 March 2006 Posted 5 March 2006 Henderson 7 - His kicking seems better however still puts spin on the ball which may trouble his own players, however deserves credit for a point-blank world-class save in the second half. Stearman 6 - Some good defensive displays, had a poor first half and not much better in the second. Look uncomfortable and unsure on the ball. Kisnorbo 7.5 - Another great, tidy display, and is looking one of our better players at the minute. Didnt put a foot wrong. Gerrbrand 6 - Seemed to take his time on the ball when in possesion, and wasnt brilliant without it. Seemed to not win anything in the air what so ever. Johanson 8 - A great display, rather skillful and very relaxed near the end of the second half and given his usual calm, solid display once again. Maybury 6 - I think we have seen better from him this season, and he seemed slightly hesitant on the ball. In places I was not sure whether he was playing in right back or right wing as him and Stearman seemed to occasionally switch, and it didnt seem too effective. Gudjohnson 9 MOM - Fantastic display. Wasnt sure whether he was brilliant or awful in the first half, with some un-characteristic inconstistant displays in the first half, however played much better in the second half with two fantastic goals to seal the points for city. Williams 6 - Didnt seem bothered in places with an unsure performance, however work off-the-ball went un-noticed as the crowd got on his back. Hughes 7 - Seemed ok on the left, however he seemed reluctant to run up the left, possibly because he is just not a left-sided player, however an ok, steady display. Hume 8.5 - Another fantastic display from this little tenacious trouble with a brilliant finish, flicking the ball with the outside of his boot for City's first goal, and kept working hard relentlesly. Fryatt 8.5 - Showed class, with some great dribbling and holding up with the ball. Seems comfortable and relaxed on and off the ball, and was a continuous threat all afternoon.
Louise Posted 5 March 2006 Posted 5 March 2006 Henderson - 6 - Fantastic save in the second half to stop a certain goal, shame he then went on to flap at the resulting corner because if he’d caught it his confidence might have improved somewhat for the rest of the game. There is no denying that he can make some fantastic saves, but even keepers in the lower leagues can do that on their day, the way that he goes about other things should single him out as being a better player and I'm just not sure about that at the moment. His kicking was improved somewhat (he didn’t put anything out of play that I can remember) but he was stuck to his line, didn’t take command of his area and was often slow to move for things, it’s as if the only part of his ability that he’s sure of is his shot-stopping so he tries to wait for someone to shoot rather than collect the ball in the air or something. Stearman - 6 - very quiet game from him, got into some good positions at times but crossed from too deep. Don’t know how much of his quietness was down to his injury and how much was down to their winger. I suppose it's a tribute to his potential that even though he didn’t have the best of games I couldn’t really highlight any glaring errors from him. Kisnorbo - 7 - Another good performance, although not as good as when he's played next to McCarthy. Certainly the better of the two centre-backs. I can’t believe some of the touches he tries now; when he was in midfield he looked to have no skill at all! Gerrbrand - 6 - Seems a bit rusty, his first touch let him down on several occasions (not usually something you'd harshly criticise a centre-back for but we know that he can do so much better) and he hardly ever seemed to get his head onto a ball. He seemed a bit off the pace to me, whether that is to do with match fitness I don't know. In the past he’s looked like a good player and I certainly wouldn't write him off but this looks like it just isn’t going to be his season and McCarthy and Kisnorbo are looking like a far better pairing at the moment. Johansson - 8 - Some surprising skills on show from Nissa, particularly in the second half when he was running up that wing, putting balls in and beating players. For anyone who wasn’t there but has seen Nissa play before that must sound unbelievable but really it happened. He did well to set up Joey for the winning goal. As for his defensive duties he was alright, even if he did drift inside a bit again, but not as badly as he used to do. Perhaps he’s starting to feel threatened by the introduction of Brevett, but on this performance he has nothing to worry about. Maybury - 6 - It's strange how Maybury sometimes seems like a worse player when given the armband, perhaps he starts concentrating on that too much. He didn’t have a bad game, just a pretty anonymous one. He switched well with Stearman a few times. Gudjonsson - 10 - I'm usually loathed to give a player 10, the last time I did I think it was Connolly against Stoke at home when he got his hat-trick. It seems best to reserve it for players who win the game for you, and Joey certainly deserves it for this performance. He scored two goals and set up the other one, he was all over the pitch again and in a midfield that was pretty flimsy he was outstanding. We are going to miss him next season so much, he seems to have assisted the majority of our goals recently and scored a fair few himself. That first goal is going to be one to tell the grandkids about, and while it won't get as much press as it deserves in the national media it’ll certainly live for a long time in my memory. Don't go Joey? Williams - 6 - Average performance, I wouldn't say it was his worst ever game for us, I did see a few moments where he actually seemed to be trying, and when he put together a few good passes but sometimes he needs so much time on the ball he’s his own worst enemy, and it was particularly highlighted against Hull because no-one else seemed able to keep hold of the ball either. Hughes - 6 - as usual, clearly not comfortable on the left and spent a lot of his time drifting infield. Covered a lot of the pitch at first but clearly was struggling for most of the second half and needed to be subbed. 'Loved' how one bloke in front of me was giving him so much abuse, how quickly people forget ay... then again he was the guy who loved giving Kisnorbo abuse as well, obviously he needs someone to hate. I think more than anything the swap to LW after playing CM for a number of games did it for Hughsey as he seemed more confused than he has done previously on the left wing. Hume - 7.5 - great finish for his goal but other than that he didn't do much. I mean he ran about as usual and attempted to make a nuisance of himself, won some headers and helped out with keeping possession and defending but I can't really remember another shot he had on target or even one he had off target and those are the things that really stick out for a striker. I don't really blame him though as the service he received was truly appalling - lots of long balls in the air and crosses from the half-way line that their defence on the whole had no problems with. I do still love him though, he’s on a great run at the moment, and a couple of weeks ago he’d have probably put the ball from Joey wide. Fryatt - 6.5 - very quiet game, perhaps lacking confidence a bit from not scoring for a few games, but still ran about and made himself useful. He suffered from the same problem as Hume, too many long balls just lumped in his direction that he was expected to just do something with. Some of his best work against Hull was done on the by-line, getting hold of the ball and putting it across the box in the hope someone might tap it in. Subs: Welsh - 6 - not really on long enough to rate so that score should probably be taken with a pinch of salt. Looked ok, was eager to impress clearly and got into a few good positions on the left, although seemed unwilling to cross when he got there. Managed to keep the ball at the right end of the pitch and won a couple of headers. He looks very spindly though, dunno how strong he'll be under a challenge. I cannot believe he missed that chance at the end, I mean it was simply gobsmacking, I hope they show it on some highlights somewhere so I can see it again and realise that he had players bearing down on him, or that a large hill suddenly appeared to put him off balance or something - because to me it looked like he was clear through on goal, with an open net in front of him, and instead of going for hitting the target he attempted to put a bit of a finish on it and instead put it over. It was unbelievable. I suppose it kept the ball at the right end of the pitch which was good for us but....my God... Brevett - not on long enough to rate. His first touch was a slice into the crowd which wasn't very encouraging. He managed to run the ball out of defence a bit with his second which was better. I liked how he came on and immediately started ordering people around, although I don’t know what he said so it might have been all rubbish.

Feel a lot of u are giving credit to kisborbno for previous performances. in the game he looked uncomfortable on the ball, was never solid as some of you say. he kept making passes that put pressure on our defense. how is this good defending. both him and gerrbrand were at fault for the goals. They both got caught out if position. but many of you seem to have blamed stearman for this.????? he was forced to get out of position to cover the gap left by the other three. Once we do get a decent right back, would like to see stearman partner paddy at the back. make us solid.
Swedging Posted 6 March 2006 Posted 6 March 2006 both him and gerrbrand were at fault for the goals. They both got caught out if position. but many of you seem to have blamed stearman for this.????? he was forced to get out of position to cover the gap left by the other three. Don't see that myself. For letting the guy get the free header, fingers should be pointed first at Stearman, Hendo (for not pointing out the danger) and Gerrbrand, possibly Maybury for not tracking back, and Kisnorbo only for not forcing Gerrbrand over more. For letting the cross be made, first Hughes (since he was there), then Nisse and Kisnorbo (and Gerrbrand for being on that side).
