No Taggs tomorrow

Gerry won't be scoring the winner in the last minute against us tomorrow-he's serving the last match of a sending off ban. You can almost guarantee that he'll be on the pitch at half time, interesting to see if he makes any mention of Micky.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if it's the loudest singing we hear tomorrow,GERRY GERRY GERRY GERRY GERRY GERRY GERRY GERRY GERRY GERRY GERRY GERRY.

Now MA has gone it's one of the few chants where everyone will know the words!

Shame the Taggs ain't playing - with our new found passing and moving ability up front (well, Connolly anyway) I'm sure we could have skinned him for pace!

Just pinched this from the Fox Fanzine website

I'm in the Terra Cotta in High Cross St Satdi night.

Next table is Gerry and friends.

You know how most times when you are in a gaff and you see a "celebrity" everyone sort of nudges each other and is a bit reluctant to make it known to said celebrity that he/she has been spotted.

Well Gerry gets up for a jimmy and all the blokes start it up with punched arms in the air "Gerry, Gerry" as in The Springer Show. Taggs looks delighted and conducts the chorus on his way to the slasher.

Finally as he is leaving and he passes my table I say "Thanks for all you did at City" like a daft schoolgirl. He shakes hands and I say "Enjoyed your little speech at half time" (when he was asked by Birch if he regretted being suspended for the game. He said what he regrets most is that Micky Adams has gone and how he wasn't able to play and score a 90th minute winner against Adams).

He tells me "I was only telling the truth".

I says "As it happens you were right".

He says "Tell me about it".

I says "Good luck for the future".

And off he went - a hero - off into the night.

Gerry obviously still had "issues" with Adams. No love lost there clearly.

Looks strangely a bit smaller than he looked on the pitch. But don't they all?
