Bert Posted 17 March 2006 Share Posted 17 March 2006 Link City captain Paddy McCarthy faces a fitness race ahead of tommorows game. McCarthy is one of three players with slight injuries, Kisnorbo has a minor knock but did train yesterday while striker Matty Fryatt is also nursing a knock. City go into the lions den 10 points clear of Millwall, a win would see them virtually safe.
Ric Flair Posted 17 March 2006 Share Posted 17 March 2006 When McCarthy is missing we do look more suspect but Gerrbrand now needs to take his chances if Paddy is ruled out. Let's hope both he and Fryatt are ok to play, do we risk them tomorrow for the win or save them for a match against Reading that isn't as essential in terms of result? When you put it like that, you want to risk them. I don't think we should though. The risk is that Fryatt's groin injury keeps him out for 2 or 3 weeks - he'll miss two or three games, and that's not something we want. I think Fryatt may be benched tomorrow, with O'Grady stepping in alongside Hume. As for Paddy, we may look suspect without him, but he's a player we really don't want to risk. We've a core of players we really don't want to get injured, Fryatt and McCarthy are two of them.
