FM06 Online Help

Recommended Posts

Me and my mate are trying to play FM06 online, but when we type the IP address into the 'Join Game' box, it says that it cannot connect to the server.

Anyone know a way around this?

Is your firewall blocking the connection do you think?

Also Make sure you have enbaled run as server in the game preferences menu. If you are using a router or a firewall, you need to open ports 1093 (TCP) and 1094 (UDP).

I haven't got a network game up and running since the game was renamed to Football Manager. I can't connect to anyone else nor host a game myself. I'm behind a router and have a vague idea of how to open up those ports but still get no success afterwards.

Rubbish.

I've ticked 'run as server', but it still doesn't work. ;)

Sorry mate, the ports that need to be open are 10093 and 10094, try that

I think its defo something to do with that, make sure Windows firewall is not blocking it, or just turn off your firewall for a minute to check if works then.

Apart from that, am stumped :(

If you wanna open your ports you should refer to your router manual.

You have to change your router settings by logging into the router (by typing in something like 192.168.1.1 and then putting in your username and password).

Somewhere in the settings screen there should be an option to manually open ports (TCP or UDP) - there you type in the port numbers that you want to open.

It's not too difficult to do.
