Why does the family stand have to be behind the goal?

We've had many discussions on here and also the club asked the fans whether the kop should be changed with the family stand.

Why does the family stand have to be behind the goal??

My Idea is to put the family stand in L1 K1 and J3.

Meaning the L1ers and the people in the kop who want to sing, can join together next to the away fans, and leave the older farts, who used to sit in the double decker in the Kop now.

Everyone's a winner.

It's all good and well saying this but many people will kick up a fuss if this happens. People who want to sit in the side stands sit there purely for the excellent view and don't want screaming kids around them and this is why they sit there. They wouldn't like it if they had to relocate for a few thousand people and the club will be embezzled with complaints.

Oh right, so the people who don't want screaming kids around them, choose actually to sit in L1 then, so they can get even bigger kids shouting even louder .

At least with my idea, people who want good views can sit in J2, J1 H1 or anywhere on the west stand.

This argument is a waste of time, the board aren't interested in moving the kop they never were and they never will. FACT

Ah, but I'm not saying move the Kop, I'm saying keep the kop where it is, just move the family area away from behind the goal, then people can choose whether they sit in the "kop" or the stand opposite.

So the north stand becomes a non restricted area. I like it but again i am certain the board will just pretend that some survey says nobody wants it.

At Filbert St -the north stand plus part of the Carling Lower Tier was the family enclosure which is probably why the north stand is classed as the family stand at the Walkers.

Precisely.

The club did ask fans earlier in the season whether they wanted the Kop moved, but the answers they had back indicated fans wanted to stay where they are.

So I'm afraid that's what we're stuck with... :(
