Scow Posted 21 July 2004 Posted 21 July 2004 http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsD...~542780,00.html Micky indicates more signings to come. I would not be surprised to see Makin signed up, and possibly one of the trialists from the Franchise game. But we need a defensive midfielder though - I think Micky see's Tiatto as a flank player, and he's suspended for the first 3 games anyway from what I hear......
Ricey Posted 21 July 2004 Posted 21 July 2004 Makin will sign I'm sure. I hope we sign Okoronkwo as he could be played as a player infront of the back 4.

I've not heard that he could play that position. I know that Nikos Dabizas played a few games in midfield for Newcastle a few years back....

discojoe Posted 21 July 2004 Posted 21 July 2004 there doesnt seem to be many midfielders that wanna get stuck in that are sitting on the bench anywhere tho
bren Posted 21 July 2004 Posted 21 July 2004 Its quite worrying actually, last season we had mckinley, freund, davidson who could play that position but now there is not really anyone with any bite!! Be worried remember Matt Heath played a few games in midfield for the reserves last season
Scow Posted 21 July 2004 Author Posted 21 July 2004 Be worried remember Matt Heath played a few games in midfield for the reserves last season That really isn't a nice thought. A midfielder who can't pass. Hmmmmmm.
bren Posted 21 July 2004 Posted 21 July 2004 Who's going to come in then? The only 2 centre midfielders we have got are Williams and Nalis, perhaps Scowcroft if you're really desperate, i think he will defo sign a midfielder before the season starts.

ForeverBlue Posted 21 July 2004 Posted 21 July 2004 We have got to sign a ball winner! There must be someone out there who could fill this role for us, cant think of anyone though

Ricey Posted 21 July 2004 Posted 21 July 2004 I'm not certain but I'm sure i've heard somewhere than Issac Okoronkwo can play in midlield, he is normally a dentral defender though. Even if he hasn't played there before he is quick and agile so I think he'd be ok there.
Ash Posted 21 July 2004 Posted 21 July 2004 I wish we kept Freund , he would of been a brilliant holding midfielder for us
87fox Posted 21 July 2004 Posted 21 July 2004 I know; I wish we kept him and McKinly - but - Micky knows best! (that honestly wasnt meant sto sound sarcastic)
Guest Guest Posted 21 July 2004 Posted 21 July 2004 I cant see why we released frued he always gave 110% i thought he was brilliant and he could of done a job in the championship.
87fox Posted 21 July 2004 Posted 21 July 2004 Well his contract was only until the end of the season - they probably mutually agreed it was best to move on...

That's what I heard. I think he initially made an impact with us, but began to look more tired towards the end of the season and would only last about 60 minutes for each game.
SamuearlJackson Posted 21 July 2004 Posted 21 July 2004 all offseason the acquisition of a hard man centre-mid must have been a priority but still no-one has been brought into to fill this big void in the squad. i hope MA has got something up his sleeve here. SamJ

There is no way we would be able to get away with playing both Williams and Nalis in the same midfield, unless one of them occupies a wider berth. This Ouom can play defensive midfield, but I've never heard or seen him play before....All I know is that he's been involved in some drug issues....
