Chairman of the Bored Posted 29 May 2006 Posted 29 May 2006 I'm think about hiring the 1884 Sports Bar for a party. Would probably get 200 people along. Would it look a bit empty with that number in? Has anyone been to a party there, as opposed to a drink after the match. Would be interested in your comments. Thanks.

Thanks. i reckon 200 would be about right, wont be full but atleast then u still have room to move about what there limit for in there?
Chairman of the Bored Posted 29 May 2006 Author Posted 29 May 2006 According to the OS blurb there's room for 450.
Tomassi Posted 29 May 2006 Posted 29 May 2006 According to the OS blurb there's room for 450. there wouldnt be room to hold your pint to your mouth with that many!!! 200 is more than enough, it would fill most of it with a bit of room for a boogie (trust me i used to work there) Warning though, DRINKS ARE EXPENSIVE £3.00 stella last time i worked there, might be more now
Jay Posted 29 May 2006 Posted 29 May 2006 According to the OS blurb there's room for 450. so it holds 450 people and they only have 7 seats!!! how does that work?

What's the Disco like? Can you influence what's played?
Chairman of the Bored Posted 29 May 2006 Author Posted 29 May 2006 so it holds 450 people and they only have 7 seats!!! how does that work? I guess for parties they move them in from elsewhere?????
Cobbo Posted 29 May 2006 Posted 29 May 2006 Cheers for that. What's the Disco like? Can you influence what's played? 70's and you all have to wear wigs.
Jay Posted 29 May 2006 Posted 29 May 2006 I guess for parties they move them in from elsewhere????? last time I went in there I noticed a distinct lack of seats and pint resting ledges!!!
Chairman of the Bored Posted 29 May 2006 Author Posted 29 May 2006 70's and you all have to wear wigs. Well, as long as it's 76-78 and it's punk or 79-80 and it's post-punk that's ok. Early 70s experimental Kraut Rock wouldn't go down too well as I guess there's a 'no drugs' policy for parties?
Chairman of the Bored Posted 29 May 2006 Author Posted 29 May 2006 last time I went in there I noticed a distinct lack of seats and pint resting ledges!!! was that for a party or an after match drink?
Ultra Posted 30 May 2006 Posted 30 May 2006 there wouldnt be room to hold your pint to your mouth with that many!!! 200 is more than enough, it would fill most of it with a bit of room for a boogie (trust me i used to work there) Warning though, DRINKS ARE EXPENSIVE £3.00 stella last time i worked there, might be more now Stella was still £3/pint last season. That's not too much more than the average..
