The only thing that seems to have been wrong is that he hasn't had an op. He could still be out for the season according to this:

Walker Injury Update

Craig Levein today cleared up the confusion

surrounding the fitness of Leicester City

goalkeeper Ian Walker.

Various media outlets reported on Wednesday that

the England international required an operation to

cure a knee injury that has kept him out of action

since the end of August.

But the City boss confirmed at his pre-match press

briefing that Walker was still undergoing

rehabilitation on the problem area.

He said: "We were sitting having lunch at the

training ground on Wednesday and it came up on the

television that Ian was having an operation. He

was sitting across from me and we were both fairly

surprised to say the least.

"We are going to treat his knee conservatively

now. He has been back in training but he hasn't

quite managed to get on top of the problem. We'll

give him two months of treatment and then we will

look at the situation again.

"I was hoping that he would be back in training

this week so that obviously causes me a little bit

of a problem. I maybe need to start thinking about

bringing in somebody on loan in the goalkeeping

position - at least for a couple of months or

maybe until the end of the season depending on how

Ian does." Levein also hinted that the squad for the visit of

Sunderland to the Walkers Stadium on Saturday

would again be along the same lines as what had

been on show for his first two games in charge.

He added: "The squad for this weekend will pretty

much be the same again. We had 19 outfield players

playing today and that is it - that is all we have

got. "

Approx. last week the Danish national radio reported that AaB's first keeper, Jimmy Nielsen, was on trial at Leicester, though it wasn't reported anywhere on a Leicester related site... Fact is he would cost only about 200K and is a very decent keeper with his best years ahead of him. It's quite amazing that he hasn't been selected for the national team yet, but that should only help in keeping his price tag relatively low..
