shrood Posted 10 November 2004 Posted 10 November 2004 just saw on sky sports news that he needs an operation and it will take him about 4 months to recover....
Guest Posted 10 November 2004 Posted 10 November 2004 Really? I was under the impression he no longer wanted to play for us any more.
Ric Flair Posted 10 November 2004 Posted 10 November 2004 Seems pointless that we tried to rest Walker for two months now. Should of got the operation out the way straight away. Isn't hindsight such a lovely thing. Get rid of Dublin and Gemmill and get in Stuart Taylor on loan from Arsenal.
Oli Posted 10 November 2004 Posted 10 November 2004 What a joke! We can't have Pressman in for the rest of them 4 months. We need a loan keeper.

Scow Posted 10 November 2004 Posted 10 November 2004 I thought the operation would keep him out for the rest of the season? If so, we'll have to pay for the operation, then he'll bugger off to another club in the summer when his contract expires.
davieG Posted 10 November 2004 Posted 10 November 2004 Posted Nov 7 @ 7.22pm I think I read somewhere that he has an injury that really requires an operation but that would put him out for the whole season, they are trying to see if they can 'manage' the injury by external treatment to keep him going, doesn't look like it's working as he was supposed to be ready for Bassetts first or second game. -------------------- davieG

Mark Posted 10 November 2004 Posted 10 November 2004 Does anyone else find this suspicious? All was fine until some training session, i recall mad biker saying he'll be fit for the next game, but he wasnt. He's hardly missed a game since he joined us in 4 years, and now suddenly he's out for another 4 months after already being out for 2! <_< Not right. We need a new keeper now. Pressman all season?
jase67 Posted 10 November 2004 Posted 10 November 2004 I was sat in a bar the other week and the hearts euro game was on. The presenters seemed to think CL might go back and try to sign the goalkeeper.

Ash Posted 10 November 2004 Posted 10 November 2004 This is bad news ! Walker is a great goalkeeper , plus we can't have Pressman in for the rest of the season
Jonbluefox9 Posted 10 November 2004 Posted 10 November 2004 Why can't we have Pressman in for the remainder of the season. He's made two high profile mistakes but he's made some brilliant saves and kept numerous clean sheets.
Anish Posted 10 November 2004 Posted 10 November 2004 Bollocks. This is very disappointing news. Pressman is decent enough but nowhere near as solid as Walker.
Scow Posted 10 November 2004 Posted 10 November 2004 We definitely need a loan keeper. Pressman has been solid enough, but I really wouldn't want to see him in goal for the rest of the season. Maybe someone like Harper from Newcastle will fancy some first team football?
Anish Posted 10 November 2004 Posted 10 November 2004 I'd like it if we went for Stuart Taylor from Arsenal - he can't even get into their reserves in the Carling Cup!

I know Taylor was injured for the whole of last season, not sure if he's fit now?
City Fan Posted 10 November 2004 Posted 10 November 2004 It is very strange how LCFC say that Walker "is close to fitness, probably be back next game", and have been saying that all season! I would love Stuart Taylor from Arsenal. But more realistically is Stefan Postma. Good goalkeeper, wants to leave Villa, loan signing with a view to a permanent move? We need to sign a long term keeper soon because no doubt Pressman will retire at the end of the season, and Walker will probably retire end of next season.

Don't know which games he played in but he did play in a couple of them. I think it was Pre season of MON's last season. Birch has just said on Century that Walker isn't going to be out for 4 months and that Walker laughed at it when it came up on SSN in the canteen.
Ricey Posted 10 November 2004 Posted 10 November 2004 Very very disapointed about this, he is a great keeper and I doubt he will play for us again if he is out for the season. We need a new keeper, Pressman isn't good enough.
Louise Posted 10 November 2004 Posted 10 November 2004 I heard the same Jonbluefox9, Birch said he'd be back in a couple of weeks. Levein laughed at it as well apparently.
