It would help if we had a clue what triggered the poll in the first place.

People spend too long worrying about the past and thinking about the future that they forget it's the here and now they are living in. It's ok to plan ahead and look back fondly on your past and learn from your mistakes, but dont forget to just enjoy what you have now.

If that makes sense

It does but can you control the present without living in regret of the past and worrying about the future!

You have to learn from your past to help shape your present and future - believe me I have learnt to stop worrying about things that are already done and dusted, I view the future with caution but it doesnt worry me.

How can you proceed with caution in the future, without worrying about the past - the old saying goes:-

Only th crow can look back and hit a tree, the owl can look to the future and land

Why worry about something you cant change though. You can avoid having to worry about your past by not making the same mistakes you made previously.

You think too much dude!

I am concerned though if i live just in the present i might be too arogant to respect the future and admire the past, like the old saying goes:-

The one who looks best is like the cat in the night, constantly looking but never moving

Ok get this 'old saying' 'He who constantly makes up old sayings never gets the bird' its an old proverb but it still has meaning today

Doesn't that contradict:-

He on the fourth day definately got the bird

It just says:-

"On the fourth day, he shall have fun with the bird all the way till the fifth day"

I have no idea
