Suffolk_fox Posted 13 June 2006 Posted 13 June 2006 The Mrs and I are off on holiday to S Africa next month and are looking for a good deal on travel insurance, ie not too expensive but also good cover esp medical, cos you never know. Anyone have any companies they would recommend we try or any horrors we should avoid?? Any help would be muchly appreciated!!

Its very cheap and covenient - you just select your package, pay and then print your policy from a .pdf file. She's only used it for European trips though, so I can't comment on quotes to exotic places like SA. I have to use specialist cover, so it costs me a frickin' fortune to go anywhere.

The People's Hero Posted 13 June 2006 Posted 13 June 2006 Don't buy it from a travel agent. Also - consider an annual policy. Usually much better value, although admittedly is dependant on how much time u plan to spend on holiday over the next year.

The last time I booked a holiday with a travel agent, they advised me not to take their own insurance, which was quite honest of them, I thought!
