Combining synchronised swimming with shark fishing

Playing marbles on the circuit during an F1 race

Any rowing event to be combined with any field event

Gymnastics and boxing

I really like the last one, I'd have loved to have seen Nadia Comaneci take on Leon Spinks in the 76 Olympics :D

all swimming events should have fat lads running out of the changing rooms and randomly bombing :D

They could also award a medal to the team that urinated in the pool the most, contracted the most verucas and bought the most watery vending machine coffee.

Squirrel Angling

Attach a helium balloon to your line and bait the hook with an acorn. Then sit under a tree and 'fish' for squirrels. An upturned laundry basket would make an ideal keep net, but don't forget to throw the squirrels back into the tree at the end of the day.

Cat Trapping

Dig a big hole, about 12 foot deep, then disguise it as a piece of bush (the kind of bush your kids are liable to kick a ball into). Cat will enter the garden and think ~ boy, that bush looks good enough to take a crap in. It will then plummet 12 foot onto stainless steel spikes triggering the water sprinklers to slowly flood the hole.

This, of course, is a very poor Olympic event, but it would make me smile to see a hole full of water in the morning.
